Male Wistar rats were exposed to 100ppm Pb(2+) in drinking water for 10 months. Tail blood pressure, serum 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT), the expression of 5-HT(2B) receptor in the aorta, the aortic response to 5-HT, and the pathologic changes of aorta were examined. The systolic blood pressure of Pb(2+) exposed group was significantly increased after 2 months of Pb(2+) exposure. After 10 months of Pb(2+) exposure, aortic contractile response to 5-HT was significantly decreased. There was no significant difference in the levels of serum 5-HT and the expression of 5-HT(2B) receptor between these two groups. The aortic media and the media-lumen ratio of Pb(2+) exposed group were significantly increased. These data suggest that long-term Pb(2+) exposure can increase blood pressure, and can alter the function and structure of aortic of rats. The decreased aortic response to 5-HT has little relation to the expression of 5-HT(2B) receptor and the serum level of 5-HT, maybe is a result of the aortic structural alteration.

SnO₂ is a widely used electron transport layer (ETL) material in perovskite solar cells (PSCs), and its design and optimization are essential for achieving efficient and stable PSCs. In this study, the in situ formation of a chain entanglement gel polymer electrolyte is reported in an aqueous phase, integrated with SnO₂ as the ETL. Based on the self-polymerization of 3-[[2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl]dimethylammonium]propane-1-sulfonic acid (DAES) in an aqueous environment, combining the catalytic effect of LiCl (as a Lewis acid) with the salting-out effect, and the introduction of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as the other polymer chain, a chain entanglement gelled SnO (G-SnO) structure is successfully constructed with a wide range of functions.

This study investigated lead (Pb) transport through new, biofilm-laden, and calcium carbonate-scaled crosslinked polyethylene (PEX-A) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) potable water pipes. The research focused on Pb accumulation through short-term exposure incidents (6 h) and Pb release for a longer duration (5 d). Anthropogenic activities have accelerated lead (Pb) accumulation across different trophic levels in the ecosystem. This study focused on the physiological mechanisms of an invasive plant, in a controlled hydroponic setting to understand its response to Pb stress. was exposed to 680 µM of lead acetate for 21 days, showing high tolerance (83%) with minimal growth inhibition.
