Objectives: To present the results of ventral plication for the repair of dorsal curvature.

Methods: A total of 33 patients (mean age 38 months, range 7 months to 15 years) with a dorsal curvature of >30 degrees degrees underwent ventral plication. A subcoronal incision was performed, followed by degloving of the skin to the penile base. The point of maximal curvature was noted and marked during an erection test. Two polypropylene 5-0 plication sutures were placed in the tunica albuginea of both corporeal bodies, just lateral and adjacent to the corpus spongiosum. Proper alignment and a straight penis were confirmed with a repeat erection test. The skin incision was closed with absorbable sutures. Surgical success was determined by parental and physician satisfaction with the final outcome during follow-up.

Results: No immediate or late complications (mean follow-up 25 months, range 3-65) developed. A straight penis was achieved in 28 of 33 patients (85%). Four patients with residual curvature did not require a second procedure, and the fifth patient successfully underwent reoperation using the same technique.

Conclusions: The results of our study have shown that ventral plication is a simple and efficient technique for the repair of dorsal penile curvature.

Background: Our team recently published outcomes of a novel technique for the administration of Collagenase Clostridium histolyticum (CCH), which resulted in improved curvature outcomes and reduced number of CCH injections required.

Aim: To provide a detailed and illustrated description of our CCH-administration technique.

Methods: A descriptive summary is provided of the technique, including drug administration, protocol modifications, and post-treatment protocols.

Ventral Hernia (VH) is a common issue in patients with Diastasis Recti (DR). VH with concomitant DR presents a challenging scenario for surgical repair due to complexity of abdominal wall defects. Traditional open surgical procedure is associated with prolonged discomfort and poor cosmesis and resultant patients' unacceptability.

Article Synopsis
  • The research aims to show that combining Rectal wall Plication (RP) and robotic Ventral Mesh Rectopexy (VMR) is a safe and effective treatment for women with Obstructed Defecation Syndrome (ODS).
  • In a study involving 78 women, those who received the combination treatment (VMR + RP) experienced better improvements in sexual quality of life and increased sexual activity compared to those who had only VMR.
  • Both treatment groups reported significant improvements in their posterior compartment scores and bowel function, with the combined approach showing potential for enhanced overall quality of life.

Article Synopsis
  • - Collagen fleece grafting (CFG) is typically used for severe Peyronie's disease with curvatures over 60°, but this study explores its effectiveness in mild to moderate cases (less than 60°) that risk penile shortening or have symptomatic plaques.
  • - The study analyzed 89 patients who underwent surgery for Peyronie's disease, finding no significant differences in operation time or complication rates between those with mild/moderate and severe curvature.
  • - Results suggest that CFG is a viable option for achieving penile straightening in selected cases of Peyronie's disease, with similar risks for patients across different curvature severities.

Background: Urethral plate (UP) reserved Onlay urethroplasty is currently used widely in mid-distal hypospadias. However, for children with 15-30° residual curvature after degloving, only dorsal tunica albuginea plication is performed to correct penile ventral curvature (VC), and long-term follow-up showed a high recurrence rate of penile curvature. We developed a modified Onlay urethroplasty, which dissociates the UP and completely removes the tissue beneath the UP to fully correct penile curvature.
