Ultrahigh-voltage potassium-ion batteries (PIBs) with cost competitiveness represent a viable route towards high energy battery systems. Nevertheless, rapid capacity decay with poor Coulombic efficiencies remains intractable, mainly attributed to interfacial instability from aggressive potassium metal anodes and cathodes. Additionally, high reactivity of K metal and flammable electrolytes pose severe safety hazards.

As the anode material of LIBs, the SnS electrode boasts a reversible specific capacity as high as 1231 mA h g. Additionally, SnS possesses a CdI2-type layered structure with a layer spacing of 0.59 nm, which allows it to accommodate numerous lithium ions and facilitate rapid charge transfer.

The nonthermal destruction of aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF) stockpiles, one of the major culprits responsible for water and soil contamination by per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), is extremely challenging because of the coexistence of mixed recalcitrant PFAS and complicated organic matrices at extremely high concentrations. To date, the complete defluorination of undiluted AFFF at ambient conditions has not been demonstrated. This study reports a novel piezoelectric ball milling approach for treating AFFF with a total organic fluorine concentration of 9080 mg/L and total organic carbon of 234 g/L.

Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) latex nanoparticles serve as a versatile platform for surface modification due to their role as precursors in PVDF manufacturing. However, the strong chemical stability and poor compatibility of PVDF present significant challenges for effective surface modification. To address this, we developed a method that facilitates surface modification through chain entanglement.
