Nanocrystalline Sr(2)FeMoO(6) (SFMO) belonging to the group of double perovskite oxides, was prepared by the sol-gel citrate method. The structural and microstructural characterization has been carried out with the help of X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), respectively. XRD of Sr(2)Fe(1-x)Ni(x)MoO(6) (SFNMO) shows the formation of solid solution with average grain size of about 40nm. A comparative study of gas sensing behaviour of Sr(2)FeMoO(6) and Sr(2)Fe(1-x)Ni(x)MoO(6) with reducing gases like hydrogen sulfide (H(2)S), liquid petroleum gas (LPG), hydrogen (H(2)), ethanol (C(2)H(5)OH) and carbon monoxide (CO) were also discussed. The sensitivity is calculated by measuring the change the resistance of the sensor material in the presence of gas. Among the different composition of x (x=0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5), Sr(2)Fe(0.6)Ni(0.4)MoO(6) (x=0.4) shows better response to H(2)S gas at 260 degrees C. Incorporation of palladium (Pd) improves the gas response, selectivity, response time and reduced the operating temperature from 260 to 220 degrees C for H(2)S gas.

Semitransparent perovskite solar cells (ST-PSCs) for building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) face the challenge of achieving high efficiency due to significant light loss. The SnO2 electron transport layer (ETL), utilized in n-i-p PSCs and prepared via the sol-gel method, is susceptible to aggregation on substrate, resulting in light scattering that diminishes absorption of the perovskite layer. In this study, we propose a strategy that combines atomic layer deposition (ALD) and sol-gel solution to deposit a bilayer SnO2 structure to address these issues.

A hybrid coating made of poly (methyl methacrylate) with SiO2-TiO2 particles (PMMA/SiO2-TiO2) has been developed for use as a coating on nanosatellites, evaluating its resistance to high vacuum by quantifying its weight loss. Poly(-lysine)--poly(ethylene glycol)--poly(-lysine) (PLys--PEG--PLys) triblock copolymers formed polyion complex (PIC) with poly(acrylic acid) (PAAc) or sodium poly(styrenesulfonate) (PSS), leading to the formation of flower micelle-type nanoparticles (Nano or Nano) with tens of nanometers size in water at a polymer concentration of 10 mg/mL. The flower micelles exhibited irreversible temperature-driven sol-gel transitions at physiological ionic strength, even at low polymer concentrations such as 40 mg/mL, making them promising candidates for injectable hydrogel applications. Rheological studies showed that the chain length of PLys segments and the choice of polyanions significantly impacted irreversible hydrogel formation, with PSS being superior to PAAc for the formation.
