Extranodal lymphomas can be challenging for a practicing cytopathologist, especially in the fine needle aspiration clinic setting. These lymphomas can vary in type from one extranodal site to another. A variety of these lymphomas have very specific clinicopathologic features. They also may be associated with underlying autoimmune diseases, immunodeficiency syndromes, infection, or be noted in unique ethnic communities. This article reviews some of the commonly encountered lymphomas in extranodal sites with an emphasis on clinicopathologic and cytologic features.

Background and objective Lymphomas can involve the gastrointestinal (GI) tract as a primary disease or as a secondary spread of systemic disease. The GI tract is a key site for extranodal lymphomas, with Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) occurring in this region. This study aimed to analyze the demography, anatomic distribution, histological subtypes, and immunomorphological characteristics of all lymphomas with a primary GI presentation at a quaternary care hospital in southern India.

This study aims to address gaps in knowledge about AL's demographic and clinical profiles, treatments, and survival outcomes, leveraging data from the SEER program.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of 79 AL cases identified in the SEER database from 2000 to 2022; 36 stage I AL were identified and defined as localized primary anal lymphoma (L-PAL).

Primary effusion lymphoma (PEL) is a rare and aggressive B-cell lymphoma typically associated with human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8) and Epstein-Barr virus infections. It classically presents as a malignant effusion in body cavities, but rarely presents with an extracavitary variant characterized by solid tumors in lymph nodes or extranodal sites such as the gastrointestinal tract, skin, lungs, and nervous system. This case report describes an unusual presentation of primary cutaneous extracavitary PEL in an HIV-positive patient that has only been reported in 8 cases previously.

Background: Double-expressor lymphoma (DEL) has a poorer prognosis than other subtypes of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). This study is a multicenter, prospective, single-arm, phase 2 clinical study initiated by investigators to evaluate the efficacy and safety of combined zanubrutinib with R-CHOP, which includes rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone for patients with DEL (stage II or more), as well as to explore factors related to efficacy preliminarily.
Methods: From November 2020 to July 2022, 48 newly diagnosed patients were enrolled.

Introduction: The prognosis of relapsed or refractory mature T- and natural killer (NK)-cell lymphoma remains dismal. Novel agents are urgently needed to improve the outcomes for this population.
Methods: In this phase 2, multicenter, open-label, single-arm study (NCT03776279), the authors report the efficacy and safety of liposomal mitoxantrone (Lipo-MIT) monotherapy in patients with relapsed or refractory mature T- and NK-cell lymphoma.
