Twenty-five (N = 25) early adolescents were asked to describe their conceptions of the good life and a good person. Analysis of their responses revealed that sixth and ninth graders see care and support from friends and family as requisite components of the good life. Having material comforts, being happy, and achieving personal goals were also important, as were staying out of trouble and helping others. Treating others well was necessary for one to be considered a good person. Good people, according to these youths, also acted in genuine or authentic ways. Adolescents' views of the good life were compared with Benson's building blocks of healthy development. While the two notions were not identical, these early adolescents' conceptions mapped onto the categories of assets in all but one area. While Benson believes that responsibility to and respect from one's community is essential for healthy development, early adolescents did not find it requisite for the good life or good person. Implications of the difference are explored.

Osteosarcoma (OS) is a commonly observed malignant tumor in orthopedics that has a very poor prognosis. The endosomal sorting complex required for transport (ESCRT) is important for the development and progression of cancer and may be a significant target for cancer therapy. First, we built a prognostic signature using 7 ESCRT-related genes (ERGs) to predict OS patient prognosis.

Background: The concepts of masculinity and femininity have historically shaped gender roles, leading to inequality and gender-based discrimination. Background: Diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) are severe complications of diabetes, posing significant health and societal challenges. Accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and elevated glucose levels are primary factors affecting diabetic wound healing. Achieving effective treatment by reducing ROS alone is challenging, as high glucose levels continuously drive ROS production.

Inspired by the superhydrophobic characteristics of duck feathers this research introduced an intelligent, responsive, and eco-friendly food packaging film constructed from carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and gelatin (Gel). The film successfully mimics the asymmetric, bionic, barbed structure of a duck feather, offering outstanding hydrophobicity and moisture vapor resistance characteristics. Moreover, the bionic film demonstrated good mechanical strength, film-forming ability and biodegradability.

The presence of a synergistic effect between carrier and insecticide in controlled release formulations is highly desirable to improve efficacy to target pests and reduce insecticide use. Herein, controlled release microparticles of avermectin (AVM) were fabricated using natural chitosan (CTS) as a carrier by a pH adjustment method. The resulted AVM@CTS microparticles displayed high encapsulation efficiency (73.
