Study Objective: Extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (eCPR) is a rescue therapy for selected patients when conventional cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) fails. Current evidence suggests that the success of eCPR depends on well-structured in- and out-of-hospital protocols. This article describes the Vienna eCPR program, and the interventions implemented to improve clinical processes and patient outcomes.

Atrial flutter (AFL), defined as macro-re-entrant atrial tachycardia, is associated with debilitating symptoms, stroke, heart failure, and increased mortality. AFL is classified into typical, or cavotricuspid isthmus (CTI)-dependent, and atypical, or non-CTI-dependent. Atypical AFL is a heterogenous group of re-entrant atrial tachycardias that most commonly occur in patients with prior heart surgery or catheter ablation.

Plants lack specialized and mobile immune cells. Consequently, any cell type that encounters pathogens must mount immune responses and communicate with surrounding cells for successful defence. However, the diversity, spatial organization and function of cellular immune states in pathogen-infected plants are poorly understood.

Background: The Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) remains a major public health challenge worldwide, with survival outcomes heavily influenced by early intervention. The presence of an initial shockable rhythm significantly increases the likelihood of survival when combined with timely cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation.
Objective: To analyze patient outcomes and the incidence of bystander and dispatch-guided CPR in cases of OHCA with an initial shockable rhythm treated by physician-led emergency medical teams in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The immune system is endowed with the capacity to distinguish between self and non-self, so-called immune tolerance or "consciousness of the immune system." This type of awareness is designed to achieve host protection by eliminating cells expressing a wide range of non-self antigens including microbial-derived peptides. Such a successful immune response is associated with the secretion of a whole spectrum of soluble mediators, e.
