The molecular weights of collagen and hyaluronic acid solutions after their incubation with collagenase and hyaluronidase were evaluated by capillary viscosimetry. The results indicate high amylolytic activity of collagenase and the absence of proteolytic activity in hyaluronidase in an in vitro system.

Nervous system disorders are characterized by a progressive loss of function and structure of neurons that ultimately leads to a decline in cognitive and motor functions. In this study, we used interfacial polyelectrolyte complexation (IPC) to produce fibers for neural tissue regeneration. IPC is a processing method that allows spinning of sensitive biopolymers.

Objective: This study explores whether hyaluronic acid (HA) of different molecular weights and collagen, given their role in tendon extracellular matrix maintenance, have a synergistic effect on human tendon-derived cells, with the aim to improve the treatment of tendinopathy.
Material: Human monocytes (CRL-9855™) and primary Achilles tendon-derived cells.
Treatment: The collagen/HA ratio was based on the formulation of the commercial food supplement TendoGenIAL™.

Keloids are pathological scars characterized by excessive fibroblast proliferation, abnormal collagen deposition, and chronic inflammation, which often result in high recurrence rates and limited treatment success. Targeting BACH1 with gene therapy has shown promise in regulating fibroblast activity and reducing inflammation. However, effective delivery systems for targeted gene therapy in keloids remain a major challenge.

Articular cartilage has limited capacity for repair (or for regeneration) under pathological conditions, given its non-vascularized connective tissue structure and low cellular density. Our group has successfully developed an injectable hydrogel for cartilage repair, composed of collagen type I (Col I), collagen type II (Col II), and methacrylated-hyaluronic acid (MeHA), capable of supporting chondrogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) towards articular cartilage-like phenotypes. Recent studies have demonstrated that silencing may be an effective approach in promoting improved MSC chondrogenesis.

Unlabelled: The oral consumption of collagen hydrolysates derived from various animal tissues has been demonstrated to have beneficial effects on skin health, particularly in combating the signs of aging. Here in this study, a novel animal-derived FS-Collagen hydrolysates were developed and its effects against skin aging was analyzed in a new mice skin aging model established through a combination of UV irradiation and d-galactose induction. 8 Weeks of oral FS-Collagen administration demonstrated significant protective effects against skin aging in mice, evidenced by the preservation of the skin's macroscopic appearance, the restoration of skin composition and structure, an enhancement in antioxidant capacity and the inhibition of inflammation.
