Purpose: To assess the effect that postexercise immersion in water has on subsequent exercise performance.
Methods: A literary search and review of water-immersion and performance studies was conducted.
Results: Seven articles were examined. In 2, significant benefits to performance were observed. Those 2 articles revealed a small to large effect on jump performance and isometric strength. PRACTICAL APPLICATION AND CONCLUSIONS: It is possible that water immersion might improve recovery from plyometric or muscle-damaging exercise. Such a statement needs to be verified, however, because of the scarcity of research on water immersion as a recovery strategy.

Infectious hematopoietic necrosis virus (IHNV) is a major aquaculture threat, highlighting the need for effective antiviral agents. This study evaluates the arctigenin derivative COA for its antiviral potential against IHNV. COA demonstrated no cytotoxicity to EPC cells at concentrations up to 10 μM and inhibited over 90% of IHNV gene expression in vitro.

Successful uptake and acceptance of technologies and strategies for symbiotic solutions require active engagement of relevant stakeholder groups. By exchanging knowledge, developing ideas, and learning together, stakeholders contribute to innovative and sustainable water management solutions within industrial symbiosis. ULTIMATE fosters such engagement across its nine case studies (CS) through three approaches: eXtended Reality technologies for Immersive Media Experiences (IMX), Communities of Practice (CoPs), and Water-Oriented Living Labs (WOLLs).

α-Ketol octadecadienoic acid (KODA), an oxylipin, is generated from linolenic acid by 9-specific lipoxygenase, while jasmonic acid is ultimately synthesized from the same linolenic acid by 13-specific lipoxygenase. KODA has a unique action different from jasmonic acid, such as promotion of flower formation, activation of rooting, increase of shoot germinating in spring, and breaking endodormancy. We report here that KODA promotes the systemic growth in juvenile cultured in vitro probably through the activation of immature tissue.
