We demonstrate the use of label-free real-time optical biosensors in competitive binding assays by epitope binning a panel of antibodies. We describe three assay orientations that we term in tandem, premix, and classical sandwich blocking, and we perform each of them on three platforms: ForteBio's Octet QK, Bio-Rad's ProteOn XPR36, and GE Healthcare's Biacore 3000. By testing whether antibodies block one another's binding to their antigen in a pairwise fashion, we establish a blocking profile for each antibody relative to the others in the panel. The blocking information is then used to create "bins" of antibodies with similar epitopes. The advantages and disadvantages of each biosensor, factors to consider when deciding on the most appropriate blocking assay orientation for a particular interaction system, and tips for dealing with ambiguous data are discussed. The data from our different assay orientations and biosensors agree very well, establishing these machines as valuable tools for characterizing antibody epitopes and multiprotein complexes of biological significance.
Objective: We aimed to investigate the relationship between volumetric measurements of specific brain regions which were measured with artificial intelligence (AI) and various neuropsychological tests in patients with clinically isolated syndrome.
Materials And Methods: A total of 28 patients diagnosed with CIS were included in the study. The patients were administered Öktem Verbal Memory Processes Test, Symbol Digit Modalities Test (SDMT), Backward-Forward Digit Span Test, Stroop Test, Trail Making Test, Controlled Oral Word Association Test (COWAT), Brief Visuospatial Memory Test, Judgement of Line Orientation Test, Beck Depression Scale, Beck Anxiety Scale and Fatigue Severity Scale.
Aim: To map studies that tested an intervention orienting patient transfer to Postanesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and identify outcomes related to care safety.
Methods: Scoping review guided by recommendations of the JBI Manual and the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) guide. The Population, Concept, and Context (PCC) framework was used to develop the research question and consolidate inclusion and exclusion criteria in databases consulted without date parameters.
Peptides, due to their diverse and controllable properties, are used as both liquid and gas phase recognition elements for both biological and chemical targets. While it is well understood how binding of a peptide to a biomolecule can be converted into a sensing event, there is not the same mechanistic level of understanding with regard to how peptides modulate the selectivity of semiconductor/conductor-based gas sensors. Notably, a rational, mechanistic study has not yet been performed to correlate peptide properties to the sensor response for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) as a function of chemical properties.

Purpose: To determine how often non-mass lesions are seen in screening breast ultrasounds, and analyze their ultrasound features according to the ultrasound lexicon to find features suggestive of malignant non-mass lesions.
Methods: This study is a single center retrospective study for nonmass lesions on screening breast ultrasound. Among 21,604 patients who underwent screening breast US, there were 279 patients with nonmass lesions.
Sparse coding theories suggest that the visual brain is optimized to encode natural visual stimuli to minimize metabolic cost. It is thought that images that do not have the same statistical properties as natural images are unable to be coded efficiently and result in visual discomfort. Conversely, artworks are thought to be even more efficiently processed compared to natural images and so are esthetically pleasing.
