Aim: To investigate safety and efficacy of botulinum A toxin external urethral sphincter injection in the treatment of patients with detrusor external sphincter dyssynergia (DSD) and neurogenic low detrusor contractility (DC).

Material And Methods: The study included 21 patients with DSD and 27 patients with low DC between 17 and 73 years of age. The diagnostic scheme consisted of voiding diary for 72 hours, laboratory tests, ultrasound investigation with measurement of residual urine volume, urodynamic investigation and neurologic examination. 100 units of botulinum A toxin (botox, allergan) were injected into external urethral sphincter paraurethrally in women and transurethrally in men.

Results: 6 months after the toxin injection good results were achieved in 6 out of 9 DSD patients with spontaneous micturition; physiologic micturition was restored in 5 out of 8 patients who had performed intermittent self catheterization and in 3 out of 4 patients with suprapubic fistula and urethral catheter. As for patients with neurogenic low DC, good results were achieved in 6 of 8 patients who had had spontaneous micturition; physiologic micturition was restored in 13 out of 14 patients who had performed intermittent self catheterization and in 3 out of 5 patients with suprapubic fistula and urethral catheter. There were neither complications nor side effects.

Conclusion: Botulinum A toxin external urethral sphincter injection demonstrated high efficacy in patients with DSD and neurogenic low DC.

Background: Many studies have reported the renal outcomes and metabolic consequences after augmentation cystoplasty (AC), however few studies have discussed changes in renal tubular function. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of metabolic disturbances, evaluate renal tubular function and 24-hour urine chemistry to evaluate the association between metabolic alterations and urolithiasis after AC.

Methods: We investigated serum biochemistry, blood gas, and 24-hour urinary metabolic profile of children who underwent AC between January 2000 and December 2020.

A novel molecular classification for small cell lung cancer (SCLC) has been established utilizing the transcription factors achaete-scute homologue 1 (ASCL1), neurogenic differentiation factor 1 (NeuroD1), POU class 2 homeobox 3 (POU2F3), and yes-associated protein 1 (YAP1). This classification was predicated on the transcription factors. Conversely, there is a paucity of information regarding the distribution of these markers in other subtypes of pulmonary neuroendocrine tumors (PNET).

Purpose Of Review: Bladder stones account for 5% of all urinary tract calculi. Contributing factors include bladder outflow obstruction, infections, foreign bodies, or neurogenic voiding dysfunction. This necessitates an effective treatment modality, and with advances in medical technology, minimally invasive techniques using lasers are being widely adopted.

Background And Objective: Artificial urinary sphincter (AUS) is commonly used in France in female patients with stress urinary incontinence (SUI) due to intrinsic sphincter deficiency (ISD). However, it has never been assessed using patient-reported outcomes. This study aimed to evaluate the functional outcomes of robotic AUS implantation using validated questionnaires.

Objectives: To show that robot-assisted laparoscopic cutaneous continent urinary diversion (RALCCUD) is feasible and safe; however, data on clinical outcomes in adults are lacking.

Materials And Methods: We conducted a retrospective study of all adults who underwent RALCCUD between 2017 and 2022 at a single tertiary reference centre.Patient characteristics, clinical information and perioperative outcomes were recorded.
