Aims: Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) has growing impact in the treatment of severe heart failure Stenosis of coronary veins, complex structure of coronary sinus and occlusions of subclavian veins can limit lead passage in the target vein.
Methods And Results: Retrospective analysis of 705 implantation procedures of CRT devices from 1999 to July 2007 in a single centre to show the impact of venous angioplasty manoeuvres for successful placement of left ventricular lead. In 31 patients (3.5%) venous angioplasty was performed for LV-lead placement: 24 coronary veins (balloons 2.5-4.0 mm), 4 subclavian veins, 3 valves in the coronary sinus and one Marshall vein were dilated. Ring like strictures of coronary veins made high inflation pressures (16 +/- 4 atm) necessary. Success rate of LV lead placement were 99%. Complications were rare.
Conclusions: Angioplasty of coronary or subclavian veins and valve structures of coronary sinus are a useful and safe tool for successful lead placement. The use of balloons of 3.0mm in size usually allows implantation of at least a unipolar lead.

Purpose: The AVeNEW Post-Approval Study (AVeNEW PAS) follows upon results from the AVeNEW IDE clinical trial and was designed to provide additional clinical evidence of safety and effectiveness using the Covera™ Vascular Covered Stent to treat arteriovenous fistula (AVF) stenoses in a real-world hemodialysis patient population.
Materials And Methods: One hundred AVF patients were prospectively enrolled at 11 clinical trial sites in the USA and treated with the covered stent after angioplasty of a clinically significant target stenosis. The primary safety outcome was freedom from any adverse event that suggests the involvement of the AV access circuit evaluated at 30 days.

Intracardiac migration of inferior vena cava (IVC) filter or stent is a rare but potentially fatal complication of endovascular venous device placement. There is no consensus whether migrated stents should be surgically removed by open cardiac surgery or retrieved by the percutaneous endovascular route and whether an intervention should be performed immediately or expectantly. Herein, we report a 39-year-old female who received emergent left lobe living donor liver transplantation (LDLT) owing to posthepatectomy liver failure.

To retrospectivly investigate the short-term clinical outcomes of one-stop and two-staged endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) procedures for treatment of varicose veins (VVs) and iliac vein compression syndrome (IVCS). In this study, 424 patients were treated for VVs and IVCS from June 2017 to June 2020, 91 underwent one-stop stent angioplasty (SA) and EVLA, 132 underwent two-staged SA and EVLA, 104 underwent one-stop balloon angioplasty (BA) and EVLA, and 97 underwent two-staged BA and EVLA. Clinical outcomes and complications were recorded at 3 and 12 months post-intervention.

Objective: To describe the treatment outcomes of patients who underwent Percutaneous Transluminal Angioplasty (PTA) for Central Vein Occlusive Disease (CVOD) in end-stage kidney disease and determine the association between patient profile and treatment outcomes.
Methods: A single-institution, retrospective review of patients aged 18 and above with end-stage kidney disease who underwent PTA for CVOD in the University of the Philippines - Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) from January 1, 2013, to December 31, 2022, was performed. These patients' demographic and clinical profiles were evaluated using means, frequencies, and percentages.
Simultaneous pancreas-kidney (SPK) transplantation is a recognized treatment for patients with insulin-dependent diabetes and advanced chronic kidney disease or end-stage renal disease (ESRD), offering significant survival benefits. However, it is associated with a higher risk of venous thrombosis, which can jeopardize the survival of the pancreaticoduodenal graft. This case report describes a patient with type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and ESRD who developed acute, occlusive deep vein thrombosis (DVT) involving the right common femoral, profunda femoral, and greater saphenous veins on postoperative day 1 (POD1) following a deceased donor SPK transplant, despite systemic prophylactic anticoagulation.
