Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infects both pediatric and adult populations and is an important cause of chronic liver disease worldwide. There are differences in the screening and management of HCV between pediatric and adult patients, which have been highlighted in this review. Direct-acting antiviral agents (DAA) have made the cure of HCV possible, and fortunately, these medications are approved down to three years of age.

Due to the lack of agents that directly target covalently closed circular DNA and integrated HBV DNA in hepatocytes, achieving a complete cure for chronic hepatitis B (CHB) remains challenging. The latest guidelines recommend (hepatitis B surface antigen) HBsAg loss as the ideal treatment target for improving liver function, histopathology, and long-term prognosis. However, even after HBsAg loss, hepatitis B virus can persist, with a risk of recurrence, reactivation, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma.

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a progressive, chronic eye disease with no permanent cure currently available. Symptoms of the disease, including distorted and blurred vision and gradual loss of central vision, significantly aggravate patients' daily functioning. The purpose of this study was to assess the acceptance of the disease among patients diagnosed with neovascular age-related macular degeneration before treatment and after receiving seven intravitreal injections and to determine how it was related to the values of visual parameters.

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a major global health issue, with an estimated 254 million people living with chronic HBV infection worldwide as of 2022. Chronic HBV infection is the leading cause of cirrhosis and liver cancer.
