We synthesized cubic nanoassemblies of octahedral CeO(2) nanocrystals by simply heating an aqueous solution of cerium nitrate (Ce(NO(3))(3)) in the presence of hexanedioic acid (HOOC(CH(2))(4)COOH) in a lab-scale plug-flow reactor. It was concluded that the octahedral shape of the primary CeO(2) nanocrystals plausibly leads to octa-coordination of the primary nanocrystals, thus enabling controlled assembly to form a cubic structure.

Self-assembled lipid nanoparticles containing Gd-chelating lipids are a new type of positive magnetic resonance imaging contrast agents (MRI CAs). High molecular weight imposes reduced molecular reorientation () and corresponding longer reorientation correlation times (), finally resulting in overall high relaxivity () of such contrast agents. Therefore, we report nanoassemblies based on two types of amphiphile molecules: glyceryl monooleate (GMO) as a matrix embedded with DTPA-bis(stearylamide) and its gadolinium salt (DTPA-BSA-Gd) as a Gd-chelating lipid, stabilized by surfactant Pluronic F127 molecules.

Self-assembled magnetic nanoparticles offer next-generation materials that allow harnessing of their physicochemical properties for many applications. However, how three-dimensional nanoassemblies of magnetic nanoparticles can be synthesized in one-pot synthesis without excessive postsynthesis processes is still a bottleneck. Here, we propose a panel of small organic molecules that glue nanoparticle crystallites during the growth of particles to form large nanoassembled nanoparticles (NANs).

This work explored a new precursor and its effect on morphological features of silver (Ag) nanocubes (NCs) serving as sacrificial templates for facile synthesis of gold NCs. The AgNCs were initially prepared utilizing sodium thiosulphate (NaSO) as relatively stable S producing species along with a soft etchant source KCl.

Lyotropic liquid crystalline nanoassemblies (LLCNs) are internally self-assembled (ISA)-somes formed by amphiphilic molecules in a mixture comprising a lipid, stabilizer, and/or surfactant and aqueous media/dispersant. LLCNs are unique nanoassemblies with versatile applications in a wide range of biomedical functions. However, they comprise a nanosystem that is yet to be fully explored for targeted systemic treatment of breast cancer.

RNA nanotechnology takes advantage of structural modularity to build self-assembling nano-architectures with applications in medicine and synthetic biology. The use of paranemic motifs, that form without unfolding existing secondary structure, allows for the creation of RNA nanostructures that are compatible with cotranscriptional folding in vitro and in vivo. In previous work, kissing-loop (KL) motifs have been widely used to design RNA nanostructures that fold cotranscriptionally.
