Chemical structures may be defined based on their topology, which allows for the organization of molecules and the representation of new structures with specific properties. We use topological indices, which are precise numerical measurements independent of structure, to measure the bonding arrangement of a chemical network. An essential objective of studying topological indices is to collect and alter chemical structure data to develop a mathematical relationship between structures and physico-chemical properties, bio-activities, and associated experimental factors.

Background: The electronic cognitive aid for emergencies in anesthesia (eGENA) is an app that offers digital support in anesthesiological emergency situations as a cognitive aid tool via checklists for memory and making decisions. The eGENA was published by the German Society of Anesthesiology and has been implemented in the emergency management of the anesthesiological team of the clinic in Potsdam, Germany.

Objective: The primary endpoint was to observe the influence of eGENA on the anesthesiological emergency management on the subjective feeling of assurance as well as on quality of treatment and, therefore, patient safety.

Cervical cancer is the second most prevalent disease among Ethiopian women of reproductive age and a serious gynecological malignancy affecting women regionally. About, 3,235 deaths and 4,648 new cases are reported nationwide each year. Precancerous cervical screening programs face many difficulties in settings with limited resources, despite their severity, such as a lack of medical supplies and equipment, poorly trained healthcare workers, a heavy workload for current staff, low professional compliance, and insufficient support from medical facilities.

Importance: Determining spectacle-corrected visual acuity (VA) is essential when managing many ophthalmic diseases. If artificial intelligence (AI) evaluations of macular images estimated this VA from a fundus image, AI might provide spectacle-corrected VA without technician costs, reduce visit time, or facilitate home monitoring of VA from fundus images obtained outside of the clinic.

Objective: To estimate spectacle-corrected VA measured on a standard eye chart among patients with diabetic macular edema (DME) in clinical practice settings using previously validated AI algorithms evaluating best-corrected VA from fundus photographs in eyes with DME.

Cryo-SIMPLY: A Reliable STT-MRAM-Based Smart Material Implication Architecture for In-Memory Computing.

Nanomaterials (Basel)

December 2024

Department of Computer Engineering, Modeling, Electronics, and Systems Engineering, University of Calabria, 87036 Rende, Italy.

This paper presents Cryo-SIMPLY, a reliable smart material implication (SIMPLY) operating at cryogenic conditions (77 K). The assessment considers SIMPLY schemes based on spin-transfer torque magnetic random access memory (STT-MRAM) technology with single-barrier magnetic tunnel junction (SMTJ) and double-barrier magnetic tunnel junction (DMTJ). Our study relies on a temperature-aware macrospin-based Verilog-A compact model for MTJ devices and a 65 nm commercial process design kit (PDK) calibrated down to 77 K under silicon measurements.
