Developing accountable and appropriate care services depends on listening to the views of service users. This nurse-led, qualitative study explored 10 palliative care patients' views of their care in hospital and at home using non-standard interviews. A total of 10 categories emerged, some of which are not reflected well in extant literature. However, some smaller studies show comparable results, which confirms the validity of these findings. These findings can inform the planning of services and are repeatable and generalizable. Implications for nursing and planning for palliative care are discussed.

Background: Pediatric solid organ transplantation is challenging due to the limited availability of suitable organs resulting in an increasing waitlist. Many pediatric transplant recipients receive organs from deceased donors, often after neurologic determination of death. Organ donation from patients on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) at the time of death has been described in adults, offering the potential for donation after circulatory determination of death (DCDD) with minimal ischemia time.

Virtual interventions may address key barriers to providing bereavement care, but little is known about their acceptability, feasibility, and efficacy. Our hospital's palliative care program offered a six-week closed virtual support group for bereaved parents five times between 2021 and 2024.
