Objectives: There are few quality-of-life instruments specifically for schizophrenia; thus, the objective of our study is to adapt and validate the Satisfaction with Life Domains Scale (SLDS) by Baker and Intagliata.
Method: This is a validation study in which the subjects were evaluated on 2 occasions (24-48 hours). The sample is composed of people with schizophrenia from 18 to 65 years old and who were seen in one of the following centers: Sant Joan de Déu-SSM, Hospital Clínic, Hospital de Mataró and Hospital Pere Mata. The SLDS was administered, along with Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale, the Clinical General Impression for Schizophrenia, Global Assessment of Function, Disability Assessment Scale--short version, Beck Cognitive Insight, and the Strauss and Carpenter Prognostic Scale. The Cronbach alpha test was carried out, and the intraclass correlation coefficient was used to assess test-retest reliability, along with Pearson correlations for discriminating validity.
Results: The intraclass correlation coefficients oscillated between 0.51 and 0.83. The SLDS did correlate with any of the other instruments with the exception of the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale general subscale and the Strauss and Carpenter prognostic scale.
Conclusions: The Spanish version of the SLDS was shown to be valid and reliable and provides a fast and specific measure for schizophrenia.

Purpose: To better understand burnout in oncology and clinician well-being along the career continuum starting with training, we sought to characterize the professional well-being of physicians training in medical oncology in 2023 and to identify trends over time comparing to fellows from a decade prior.
Methods: All US medical oncology fellows taking the 2023 ASCO Medical Oncology In-Training Exam (ITE) were invited to complete an optional post-exam survey evaluating fatigue, satisfaction with work-life integration (WLI), emotional exhaustion and depersonalization. 2023 ITE survey responses were compared to the 2013 ASCO post-ITE survey (n=1345).

Background: Lower instrumented vertebra (LIV) selection for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) with structural lumbar curves (Lenke 3, 5, and 6) remains debated. The iliolumbar angle (ILA) measurement is useful for assessing the lumbosacral junction flexibility. If it is nonreducible, surgeons need to make a difficult choice between a potential "imperfect" L4, associated with a residual lumbosacral curve, or a more distal fusion performed later in life due to poorer functional outcomes.

Background: Patients with symptomatic breast hypertrophy typically suffer from chronic back pain, recurrent skin irritation at the inframammary fold and/or low self-esteem resulting in impaired quality of life. Reduction mammaplasty has been shown to effectively treat symptomatic breast hypertrophy with high patient satisfaction. Despite the obvious benefits, reimbursement requests for reduction mammaplasty are initially often refused by the patient's health insurance company, thereby frequently resulting in additional examinations and eventually extra expenses.

Introduction: The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which began in early 2020, and the outbreak of war in Ukraine in 2022 (a country bordering Poland on the east) have significantly impacted the mental health of young people in Poland, leading to increased rates of depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues. The rising number of individuals struggling to cope with daily stressors, as well as non-normative stressors, may indicate a decrease in the individual's potential, specifically in skills, attitudes, and competencies required to overcome difficulties that they encounter. It can be assumed that for young people, maintaining mental health under the influence of social stressors, such as the pandemic and the ongoing war in Ukraine, depends on the ability to adapt positively, which is the ability of young individuals to adjust to situational demands in a way that allows them to effectively manage those situations.

Three tasks, important from the point of view of both children's functioning at a given life stage and preparation for the next developmental phase, were selected. These are school skills, cooperation with others and a sense of competence.
