Aim: Heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB) affects up to 37% of adolescents. Given the paucity of available tools to assess health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in adolescents with HMB, we developed the adolescent menstrual bleeding questionnaire (aMBQ), a valid and reliable measure of bleeding-related quality of life. The aim of this study was cross-cultural translation and adaptation of the English aMBQ into French to ensure accessibility for more Canadian adolescents who menstruate.

Microbial functional ecology is expanding as we can now measure the traits of wild microbes that affect ecosystem functioning. Here, we review techniques and advances that could be the bedrock for a unified framework to study microbial functions. These include our newfound access to environmental microbial genomes, collections of microbial traits, but also our ability to study microbes' distribution and expression.

The dissemination of biomedical research data beyond academia remains limited. In response, funding agencies now regularly require that the projects they fund make research data openly available for reuse. This emerging open data movement aims to democratize data access, often guided by the FAIR data technical standards, requiring that data should be findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable.

Objective: To investigate the prevalence of psychiatric medication use and sociodemographic factors, including gender identity, age, race/skin color, education level, formal employment, and access to Primary Health Care (PHC) centers, among individuals receiving care at a transgender outpatient clinic in Southern Brazil.
Methods: : This was a cross-sectional study using administrative data from the information systems of the Municipal Health Department of Porto Alegre, the capital city of Rio Grande do Sul state, collected between 2021 and 2022.
Results: : This study analyzed 629 records of individuals who accessed the outpatient clinic and found a 29% prevalence (95%CI 25;32) of psychiatric medication use, with the most frequent class being psychoanaleptics (45%), especially fluoxetine (31%).
