A 35-year-old man was admitted with continuous general fatigue and low grade fever. He was HIV-positive, and had gastric diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and renal T-cell anaplastic large cell lymphoma (T-ALCL). We diagnosed double lymphomas related to AIDS. The patient received anti-retroviral therapy, and started the CHOP regimen for the double lymphomas, resulting in transient improvement. However, fever again appeared during HAART and CHOP treatment, and a right inguinal subcutaneous lesion appeared. Biopsy specimen demonstrated null cell ALCL, and this patient demonstrated multiple lymphomas. This case suggested that cancer generation was promoted by low immunity, although it is known that ambivalent tumors such as non-Hodgkin lymphomas can occur frequently.

Classification of cases of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL)/high-grade B-cell lymphoma (HGBL) with MYC and BCL6 rearrangements, also known as BCL6 double hit lymphoma (DHL), is controversial. We assessed 60 cases of BCL6-DHL and compared this cohort to 224 cases of DHL with MYC and BCL2 rearrangements (BCL2-DHL) and 217 cases of DLBCL not otherwise specified. Compared with the DLBCL cohort, BCL6-DHL patients had more aggressive clinical features such as frequent extranodal involvement, high-stage disease, high IPI score and elevated serum lactate dehydrogenase level (p <0.

Background: Few studies have investigated associations between per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and childhood cancers. Detectable levels of PFAS in California water districts were reported in the Third Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule for 2013-2015.
Methods: Geocoded residences at birth were linked to corresponding water district boundaries for 10,220 California-born children (aged 0-15 years) diagnosed with cancers (2000-2015) and 29,974 healthy controls.

Purpose: In patients with relapsed or refractory (R/R) diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), brentuximab vedotin (BV) as monotherapy or combined with either lenalidomide (Len) or rituximab (R) has demonstrated efficacy with acceptable safety. We evaluated the efficacy and safety of BV + Len + R versus placebo + Len + R in patients with R/R DLBCL.
Methods: ECHELON-3 is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter, phase 3 trial comparing BV + Len + R with placebo + Len + R in patients with R/R DLBCL.

Increased expression of branched-chain amino acid (BCAA) transaminase 1 (BCAT1) often correlates with tumor aggressiveness and drug resistance in cancer. We have recently reported that BCAT1 was overexpressed in a subgroup of T-cell acute lymphoblastic (T-ALL) samples, especially those with NOTCH1 activating mutations. Interestingly, BCAT1-depleted cells showed pronounced sensitivity to DNA-damaging agents such as etoposide; however, how BCAT1 regulates this sensitivity remains uncertain.
