Polyfluorinated N-alpha-Fmoc-is an element of-Boc-L-lysine represents the best-in-class among a set of polyfluorinated amino acids (PFAs) which are useful tools for (19)F NMR-Based Screening. In this communication, optimized reaction conditions that allowed for the multi-gram preparation of this unnatural amino acid are reported.

Although trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) is not typically considered a Hofmeister reagent, it has been demonstrated to modulate biocoacervation. We show that TFA can be employed to probe specific interactions in coacervating bioinspired peptide phenylalanine (Phe) F-labeled at a single site, altering its liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) behavior. Solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy revealed two dynamically distinct binding modes of TFA with Phe, resulting in a structured, dipolar-ordered complex and a more dynamic complex, highlighting the proximity between TFA and Phe.

Neurotransmitter:sodium symporters (NSS) reuptake neurotransmitter molecules from the synaptic space through Na-coupled transport. They are thought to work via the alternating access mechanism, exploring multiple configurations dictated by the binding of substrates and ions. Much of the current knowledge about these transporters has been derived from examining the structure of the Leucine Transporter (LeuT), a bacterial counterpart to human NSSs.

This study aims to develop a method for the chiral analysis of organoboron compounds using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. It addresses the longstanding challenge associated with these chiral organoboron compounds, which often require derivatization and pretreatment prior to chromatographic analysis. Our method utilizes tridentate ligands to facilitate effective ligand exchange and incorporates fluorine labels, allowing for the precise discrimination of F NMR signals.

Sialic-acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectins (Siglecs) are integral cell surface proteins crucial for the regulation of immune responses and the maintenance of immune tolerance through interactions with sialic acids. Siglecs recognize sialic acid moieties, usually found at the end of -glycan and -glycan chains. However, the different Siglecs prefer diverse presentations of the recognized sialic acid, depending on the type of glycosidic linkage used to link to the contiguous Gal/GalNAc or sialic acid moieties.

Within pharmaceutical research, ensuring the enantiomeric purity of chiral compounds is critical. Specifically, chiral amines are a crucial category of compounds, due to their extensive therapeutic uses. However, the enantiomeric analysis of these compounds, particularly those with significant steric hindrance, remains a challenge.
