Aims: To compare enhanced pathology with serial sectioning and the transcription-reverse transcription concerted reaction (TRC) for detecting sentinel node (SN) metastasis in breast cancer cases.
Methods: In total, 115 SN samples from 32 breast cancer cases were investigated by pathological examination with 2.0-mm serial sectioning and by quantitative analysis of carcinoembryonic antigen messenger RNA with the TRC.
Results: The results were concordant in 98.3% of these cases. Two histologically metastatic nodes tested negative by TRC, whereas none tested positive by TRC alone.
Conclusion: Pathological examination with 2-mm sectioning showed superior performance to TRC under the study conditions.

Design: The study is a prospective, double-blinded randomised control trial that compares the mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) and Biodentine as the pulp space barrier material after induction of a periapical blood clot by over-instrumentation for endodontic regeneration in single-rooted mature permanent anterior tooth (closed apex) with apical periodontitis (periapical pathology of more than 3 mm) and having necrosed pulp. A total of 36 patients were included in the study and after randomisation were allocated equally to both the groups out of which 31 patients returned for follow-up over an 18-month period. The treatment protocol consisted of two separate appointments.

We previously demonstrated that the inability of primary endothelial cilia to sense fluid shear stress can lead to nitric oxide (NO) deficiency and cause hypertension (HTN). Decreased biosynthesis of NO contributes to cerebral amyloid angiopathy in Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients through increased deposition of amyloid beta (Aβ). However, the molecular mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of HTN and AD are incompletely understood.

Introduction And Importance: More needs to be understood concerning the natural progression and visual attributes of intracholecystic papillary neoplasm. Its longevity, especially the rate at which it transitions from benign to malignant growths, remains ambiguous. Consequently, it is imperative to elucidate the intrinsic progression of this precancerous lesion in the gallbladder.

Follicular lymphoma (FL) represents the most prevalent subtype of non-Hodgkin's-lymphoma in Western Europe and the United States. While the examination of two-dimensional histological slides remains the gold standard method for diagnosing FL stages, three-dimensional analysis provides additional insights, particularly regarding cellular morphology, spatial relationships and network connectivity. This investigation assessed the tumor-related morphological destruction of fibroreticular cell (FRC) networks bordering germinal centres in FL.

The ossa cordis (OC), or cardiac bone, is a bony structure within the cardiac skeleton of mammals, believed to maintain heart shape during systole and enhance contraction efficiency. Found in large mammals, especially ruminants, and has recently been described in chimpanzees; however, OC has not previously been described in humans. Herein, we present an incidental finding of OC in the heart of a 39-year-old man who suffered a stab wound to chest.
