Commonly used traditional didactic lecture in biochemistry being non-interactive has several disadvantages which students find boring and difficult to retain. This study reviews the potential of role play to teach biochemistry effectively. Studies published till June 2024 on the topic role play in medical education and biochemistry were searched using 'Ovid Discovery' software showing studies available in PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane databases.

Background: The current COVID-19 pandemic has changed human lifestyle to follow COVID-19 Appropriate Behaviours (CAB) and that includes social distancing, and the use of masks and sanitiser for hand hygiene. With increased use of sanitiser; the incidence of burns due to sanitiser has been reportedly on the rise. The study analysed the reported burn incidences due to sanitiser, found the relation between sanitiser and the aetiology of burn and formulated guidelines for its safe use.

Practical Relevance: A significant number of genetic variants are known for domestic cats and their breeds. Several DNA variants are causal for inherited diseases and most of the variants for phenotypic traits have been discovered. Genetic testing for these variants can support breeding decisions for both health and aesthetics.

Purpose Of Review: We review treatment criteria in the pediatric population, provide practical advice on how and when to prescribe statins, and share tips to improve compliance.
Recent Findings: Although long-term outcome studies of cardiovascular-related events, such as myocardial infarction (MI) and stroke, are lacking in this population, statin therapy initiated during adolescence has been shown to be safe and effective for up to 20 years of continuous use. HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (statins) are the most effective class of drugs for lowering low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in children and adolescents.
