Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) is a rare disorder, especially among adults, characterized by abnormal accumulation of dendritic histiocytes in various tissues, presenting as either single- or multi-system disease. In adults, spinal involvement is less common than long bone, while central nervous system manifestations, such as pituitary gland enlargement and stalk thickening, affect about a quarter of adult patients and may lead to significant endocrine disorders. Salivary gland involvement is another extremely rare manifestation of LCH.

Background: Hericium coralloides is a traditional edible and medicinal mushroom. Light is a key factor in forming fruiting bodies of fungi; however, the effects of different light on the yield and morphogenesis of H. coralloides are still unknown.

Objective: Sheehan syndrome (SS), or postpartum pituitary necrosis, occurs due to reduced vascular supply to pituitary gland after postpartum hemorrhage, often linked to coagulation abnormalities, and pituitary antibodies. A smaller sella turcica volume is a risk factor for SS, consequent to compressive effects on the pituitary stalk. Hypopituitarism in SS increases the risk of metabolic liver and bone diseases.

This work describes Bryozoa of the order Cheilostomata associated with polymetallic nodules collected by box-coring in the eastern part of the Russian exploration area of the Clarion-Clipperton Fracture Zone (CCFZ or CCZ) under contract to Yuzhmorgeologiya. Study of 569 cheilostome specimens from 4510-5280 m depth yielded 32 species (22 new) in 20 genera (3 new) and 14 families (1 new). For six species, the nomenclature was left open (genus only) owing to the paucity of defining characters.

Background: Dictyostelia are soil amoebas that aggregate to form fruiting bodies with spores and stalk cells in response to starvation. Where known, species across the dictyostelid phylogeny use secreted cAMP, detected by cAMP receptors (cARs) to induce the differentiation of spores and to organize fruiting body construction. However, recent deletion of the single of ) left both its fruiting bodies and spores intact.
