Objective: We evaluated the impact of removal of the tumour bearing testis on semen quality in men with testicular cancer and the effect of tumour histologic feature on semen quality.
Material And Methods: We took into account the semen analysis before and after orchiectomy in 30 patients.
Results: The median sperm concentration before and after orchiectomy was respectively of 26.7 x 10(6)/ml (range: 0-120 x 10(6)/ml) and 16.6 x 10(6)/ml (range: 0-75 x 10(6)/ml) (p = 0.001). Median sperm concentration before and after surgery in patients affected by seminomatous cancer were respectively of 35.47 x 10(6)/ml and 23.99 x 10(6)/ml, while cases of non-seminomatous cancer were respectively of 17.9 x 10(6)/ml and 8.16 x 10(6)/ml.
Conclusions: Semen quality at the diagnosis was poorer in patients affected by non-seminomatous testicular cancer. Sperm concentration deteriorated after orchiectomy. Our findings suggest that the most appropriate time for cryopreservation of semen is before orchiectomy.

Phytochemicals have been effectively used to enhance the growth and productivity of farm animals, while the potential roles of essential oils and their nano-emulsions are limited. This plan was proposed to investigate the impacts of orally administered moringa oil (MO) or its nano-emulsion (NMO) on the growth, physiological response, blood health, semen attributes, and sperm antioxidant-related genes in rams. A total of 15 growing Rahmani rams were enrolled in this study and allotted into three groups.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy of Transurethral Holmium Laser of the Prostate (HoLEP) with Double-n Technology in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), with a focus on preserving sexual function postoperatively.
Methods: Conducted as a multicenter, prospective, single-blind randomized controlled trial, this study enrolled sexually active male patients with BPH. Participants were randomized into three groups: standard HoLEP (Group A), single-n technology (Group B), and innovative double-n technology (Group C), which emphasizes the preservation of the urethral mucosa and nearby structures.

Fluoxetine is used in the management of depression, anxiety and other mood disorders by increasing serotonin levels in the brain and can cause sexual side effects by changing the homeostasis of sex hormones and increasing oxidative stress. Since many men who take fluoxetine are of reproductive age and sperm are exposed to fluoxetine for a considerable time, this study aimed to examine the in vitro effects of fluoxetine on human sperm biochemical markers and sperm parameters. Semen samples from 30 fertile men were divided into three groups: a positive control group, a negative control group and a fluoxetine-treated group.

The Wannan black pig is a superior local breed in Anhui province, renowned for its exceptional meat quality and remarkable adaptability to various environmental conditions. Semen, being a crucial indicator of male sexual maturity and fertility, significantly influences the performance of breeding boars. The molecular basis for comprehending the fecundity of boars in practical production lies in understanding the disparities in sperm proteins among boars of varying ages.
