Advances in grid computing show promise for easier provisioning of analytical services to biomedical researchers. In this poster we present our experiences in creating a grid analytical service based on the popular genetic linkage analysis tool GeneHunter. We have implemented and deployed this grid service using tools available from the caGrid project. Our results show that caGrid tools are quite effective and compare favorably with other existing methodologies.

We evaluate global microplastics particle density distribution using field data from 1972 to 2022, made available by the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) NCEI (National Centers for Environmental Information) global marine microplastics database. We resampled the measured microplastics density data from NOAA NCEI into a regularly spaced 1° × 1° grid and applied ordinary block kriging on a 1° × 1° mask map of the global oceans to spatially interpolate the gridded data. Climate data were retrieved from the Climate Data Store of the Copernicus Climate Change Service.

The loads that have several working states cannot be accurately distinguished by the conventional Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring (NILM) methods. This paper proposed an improved NILM method based on the Resnet18 Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm to address the misidentification of multi-state appliances. With the advancement of service robot technology, the demand for higher boundary precision in indoor semantic segmentation has increased. Traditional methods of extracting Euclidean features using point cloud and voxel data often neglect geodesic information, reducing boundary accuracy for adjacent objects and consuming significant computational resources. This study proposes a novel network, the Euclidean-geodesic network (EGNet), which uses point cloud-voxel-mesh data to characterize detail, contour, and geodesic features, respectively.
