Sacral neuromodulation is an effective treatment for refractory urge urinary incontinence, frequency, and urgency. Post pulse generator (IPG) adverse events requiring revision or explantation are typically pain, loss of response, and infection. We report a case of trauma-induced soft tissue injury and delayed extrusion of the IPG through the subcutaneous fat and skin. The device was explanted.

Compounding medications in pharmacies is a common practice for patients with prescriptions that are not available commercially, but it is a laborious and error-prone task. The incorporation of emerging technologies to prepare personalised medication, such as 3D printing, has been delayed in smaller pharmacies due to concerns about potential workflow disruptions and learning curves associated with novel technologies. This study examines the use in a community pharmacy of a pharmaceutical 3D printer to auto-fill capsules and blisters using semisolid extrusion, incorporating an integrated quality control system.

Purpose: The purpose of this retrospective study was to evaluate the efficacy of using a lateral wedge insole (LWI) during the first 3 months after medial meniscus posterior root (MMPR) repair.
Methods: Overall, 179 patients were categorized into LWI use (LWI group, 90 patients) and nonuse (control group, 89 patients) groups. Patients in the LWI group were instructed to wear an LWI from the initiation of load bearing up to 3 months postoperatively.

The extracellular matrix (ECM) stores signaling molecules and facilitates mechanical and biochemical signaling in cells. However, the influence of biomimetic "rejuvenation" ECM structures on aging- and degeneration-related cellular activities and tissue repair is not well understood. We combined physical extrusion and precise "on-off" alternating cross-linking methods to create anisotropic biomaterial microgels (MicroRod and MicroSphere) and explored how they regulate the cell activities of the nucleus pulposus (NP) and their potential antidegenerative effects on intervertebral discs.

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) and age-related macular degeneration (AMD) are the primary causes of vision impairment and blindness worldwide. The current treatment for these diseases is an intravitreal injection of anti-VEGF agents, which are costly and require frequent injections. Implants can be used to sustain the release of drugs and minimize side effects.

In recent years, 3D printers have grown strongly in drug delivery and personalised medicine, being used more and more widely. In medicine, 3DP technology can advance personalised medicine and design dosage forms to regulate the drug release rate. This review gives an overview of the 3D printing for controlled-release pharmaceuticals, detailing the technical principles, common types (including extrusion, powder, liquid, and sheet lamination-based systems), drug release control mechanisms (e.
