Each year, 5.3 million women are abused and several thousand die at the hands of intimate partners. If family violence were better understood, it could be predicted, described by patterns and prevented. Life charting (LC) is a method developed to explicate complex phenomena, such as bipolar disorder. This study tested the feasibility and usefulness of LC in deriving data about critical points in life when interventions could reduce or prevent family violence. Two research questions guided the study: (1) Does LC yield valid, reliable data when used as a review with women exposed to violence? (2) Is LC feasible for use in research?

Purpose: CytoSorb® (CS) adsorbent is a hemoadsorption filter for extracorporeal blood purification often integrated into continuous kidney replacement therapy (CKRT). It is primarily used in critically ill patients with sepsis and related conditions, including cytokine storms and systemic inflammatory responses. Up to now, there is no evidence nor recommendation for the use of CS filters in sepsis (22).

Lung cancer is the most common and deadly cancer worldwide. The 9th edition of the tumor node meta (TNM) classification system, effective from January 1, 2025, introduces significant updates. Notably, the N2 category is newly divided into N2a (single-station involvement) and N2b (multiple-station involvement), which reflects distinct prognostic implications.

The world is increasingly facing the direct effects of climate change triggering warnings of a crisis for the healthy existence of humankind. The dominant driver of the climate emergency is the historical and continued accumulation of atmospheric CO altering net radiative forcing on the planet. To address this global issue, understanding the core chemistry of CO manipulation in the atmosphere and proximally in the oceans is crucial, to offer a direct partial solution for emissions handling through negative emissions technologies.

Objective: Near-field (NF) clutter filters are critical for unveiling true myocardial structure and dynamics. Randomized singular value decomposition (rSVD) stands out for its proven computational efficiency and robustness. This study investigates the effect of rSVD-based NF clutter filtering on myocardial motion estimation.

Plastics play a crucial role in modern life, but improper use and disposal have resulted in microplastics becoming widespread in the environment, raising significant concerns about both the environment and human health. Extensive research has explored the transformation mechanisms, bioaccumulation, ecological impacts, and health risks associated with microplastics. The present review first analyzes the migration, transformation, and degradation pathways of microplastics on a global scale, and then synthesizes current knowledge on the types, sources, and migration pathways of microplastics in soil, atmosphere, and aquatic environments, emphasizing transformation mechanisms like photo-aging and microbial degradation, and detailing their ecological and human health impacts.
