A method has been developed for the group concentration of microamounts of metals (Fe, Co, Ni, Mn, Cu, Zn, Cd, Hg, Pb, Bi, Sb, Mo, W, V, Cr, Ga, In, Sn, Ag, Au, Pd, Pt) in the form of their 8-mercaptoquinolinates co-precipitated on bis(8-quinolyl) disulphide as collector, the latter being an oxidation product of 8-mercaptoquinoline. The collector is formed during the co-precipitation process, which is the reason for its high co-precipitating power. The elements thus concentrated are determined by atomic-absorption spectrometry after dissolution of the precipitate in dilute nitric acid.

Importance: Evidence-based, patient-centered treatment for alcohol use disorder (AUD) can include pharmacotherapy with naltrexone, acamprosate, or disulfiram; however, these medications are rarely used. Medicaid managed care plans (MCPs) manage health services for nearly 80% of Medicaid enrollees and are the largest payer for addiction treatment services. Little is known about Medicaid MCP policies for AUD medications.

Thioethers and their derivatives play important roles in synthetic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and materials science. Herein, we report a hemilabile P,N-ligand-assisted gold-catalyzed C-S cross-coupling reaction of organoiodides with disulfides. In this reaction, alkyl or aryl disulfides react smoothly with aryl or vinyl iodides to afford a series of aryl sulfide and vinyl sulfide derivatives in good to excellent yields.

To further demonstrate semiconductor facet effect to photocatalytic organic transformations and address a lack of using simple polyhedral semiconductor particles for disulfide bond formation, CuO cubes, octahedra, and rhombic dodecahedra were used to photocatalyze aerobic oxidation of 4-methylbenzenethiol. After reaction condition optimization, CuO crystals and ,,','-tetramethylethylenediamine (TMEDA) were added to 4-methylbenzenethiol in ethanol for thiol oxidation to 1,2-di--tolyldisulfane under 390 nm light-emitting diode (LED) lamp irradiation for just 5 min. Rhombic dodecahedra gave the highest product yield, followed by octahedra, cubes, and commercial CuO powder.

is rich in essential proteins, and is recognized for its medicinal and nutritional attributes. This study investigated the effects of protein (PEP) incorporation (0-7%) on the gel characteristics of chicken myofibrillar protein (MP) to develop a chicken mince product, providing theoretical supports for the development of functional restructured meat products. PEP incorporation improved the rheological and textual properties of the composite gels, enhancing hydrophobic interaction and disulfide bond formation, and thereby strengthening the gel characteristics.

Mammalian heme oxygenase (HO) catalyzes heme degradation using reducing equivalents supplied by NADPH-cytochrome P450 reductase (CPR). The tertiary structure of the catalytic domain of a constitutively expressed isoform of HO, HO-2, resembles that of the inductive isoform, HO-1, whereas HO-2 has two heme regulatory motifs (HRM) at the proximal portion of the C-terminus, where the disulfide linkage reflects cellular redox conditions and the second heme binding site is located. Here, we report the results of crosslinking experiments, which suggest that HRM is located near the FMN-binding domain of the CPR when it is complexed with HO-2.
