Noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) is a common occupational condition. The aim of this study was to develop a classification model for NIHL on the basis of both functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and structural magnetic resonance imaging (sMRI) by applying machine learning methods. fMRI indices such as the amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (ALFF), fractional amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (fALFF), regional homogeneity (ReHo), degree of centrality (DC), and sMRI indices such as gray matter volume (GMV), white matter volume (WMV), and cortical thickness were extracted from each brain region.

Diabetes is a growing health concern in developing countries, causing considerable mortality rates. While machine learning (ML) approaches have been widely used to improve early detection and treatment, several studies have shown low classification accuracies due to overfitting, underfitting, and data noise. This research employs parallel and sequential ensemble ML approaches paired with feature selection techniques to boost classification accuracy.

Introduction: The residential environment is hypothesized to influence sleep quality within urban settings. Factors associated with the residential environment include air and noise pollution, area socioeconomic status, green and blue spaces, and other neighborhood features. This study seeks to quantify the association of selected environmental factors with sleep quality in the daily lives of 211 older adults residing in the Paris metropolitan area with sensor-based methods.

Image encryption algorithms based on chaos theory emerge in endlessly. Based on previous various chaotic image fast encryption algorithms, this paper proposes a color image sector fast encryption algorithm based on one-dimensional composite sinusoidal chaotic mapping.

Co-active or temporally ordered neural ensembles are a signature of salient sensory, motor, and cognitive events. Local convergence of such patterned activity as synaptic clusters on dendrites could help single neurons harness the potential of dendritic nonlinearities to decode neural activity patterns. We combined theory and simulations to assess the likelihood of whether projections from neural ensembles could converge onto synaptic clusters even in networks with random connectivity.
