The antimonate, arsenate, tungstate, molybdate and selenite of titanium have been synthesized. Their composition and chemical and thermal stability have been determined. Effects of pH and temperature on ion-exchange capacity have been studied. Titanium antimonate was found to be the most stable. The utility of these ion-exchangers for analytical separations was examined by determining the distribution coefficients for 26 metal ions in some aqueous, non-aqueous and mixed solvent systems. Quantitative separations of HgCd, PbCu and PbZn have been achieved on titanium tungstate columns, and LaBa mixtures have been separated on a titanium arsenate column.

This study investigated the regenerability of anion exchange resins for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), focusing on the interaction between regenerant composition and resin characteristics. The influence of salt type and concentration on PFAS solubility revealed a general decline in perfluorohexane sulfonate (PFHxS) solubility with increased salt concentrations, most strongly with KCl followed by NaCl and NHCl. Mixed solubility results were observed for perfluorooctanoate (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS).

The starting point for the preparation of polymeric membranes by phase inversion is having a thermodynamically stable solution. Ternary diagrams for the polymer, solvent, and non-solvent can predict this stability by identifying the phase separation and describing the thermodynamic behavior of the membrane formation process.
