The malonate, succinate, glutarate and adipate complexes of lead have been examined polarographically and the overall stability constants evaluated. The values found are log beta(1) = 2.60, 2.40, 2.48, 2.38; log beta(2) = 3.62, 3.73, 3.45, 3.20; log beta(3) = 4.32, 4.11, 3.90, 3.69, for the malonate, succinate, glutarate and adipate complexes respectively.

Cell fate decisions, such as proliferation, differentiation, and death, are driven by complex molecular interactions and signaling cascades. While significant progress has been made in understanding the molecular determinants of these processes, historically, cell fate transitions were identified through light microscopy that focused on changes in cell morphology and function. Modern techniques have shifted towards probing molecular effectors to quantify these transitions, offering more precise quantification and mechanistic understanding.

Previous data suggests almost one third of myeloma patients acquire mutations in the key IMiD effector cereblon by the time they are pomalidomide refractory. Some events, including stop codons/frameshift mutations and copy loss, having clearly explicable effects on cereblon function.

Seawater electrolysis offers a promising pathway to generate green hydrogen, which is crucial for the net-zero emission targets. Indirect seawater electrolysis is severely limited by high energy demands and system complexity, while the direct seawater electrolysis bypasses pre-treatment, offering a simpler and more cost-effective solution. However, the chlorine evolution reaction and impurities in the seawater lead to severe corrosion and hinder electrolysis's efficiency.

Multicellularity spans a wide gamut in terms of complexity, from simple clonal clusters of cells to large-scale organisms composed of differentiated cells and tissues. While recent experiments have demonstrated that simple forms of multicellularity can readily evolve in response to different selective pressures, it is unknown if continued exposure to those same selective pressures will result in the evolution of increased multicellular complexity. We use mathematical models to consider the adaptive trajectories of unicellular organisms exposed to periodic bouts of abiotic stress, such as drought or antibiotics.

Dengue fever is a serious health issue, particularly in tropical countries like Singapore. We have previously found that dengue virus (DENV) recruits human plasmin in blood meal to enhance the permeability of the mosquito midgut for infection. Here, using biolayer interferometry, we found that neither kringle-4 nor kringle-5 plasmin domains alone binds well to dengue virus.
