Objective: To investigate the feasibility of applying ultracision-harmonic scalpel in tonsillectomy.
Method: Thirty-one cases treated with tonsillectomy which applied with nasal endoscope and ultracision-harmonic scalpel (ultrasonic scalpel group) and 31 cases treated with routine operation (routine group) respectively. The operating time and blood loss during operation and the degree of pain and the region of inflammation humidity as well as hospitalization days were observed.
Result: All indexes in ultrasonic scalpel group were lower than that in the routine group, including operating time and blood loss during operation, and they were obviously difference in statistics (P < 0.01).
Conclusion: The application of ultracision-harmonic scalpel in tonsillectomy was safe, efficient and feasible, and would have a nice application prospect during ear-nose-throat operation.

Objectives: Zenker's diverticulum (ZD) is a progressive condition that can cause dysphagia and aspiration. Endoscopic cricopharyngeal myotomy (ECPM) is the gold standard treatment for ZD, but there are various techniques available. We aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of the ultrasonic harmonic scalpel (UHS) versus the CO2 laser (CO2L) for ECPM in ZD.

Objective: To explore the individualized surgical strategies and surgical methods which can greatly improve the efficacy and safety of laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy in difficult and complicated situations, such as pancreatic head malignant tumors invade the major vascular and chronic pancreatitis with severe abdominal adhesions.
Methods: Case 1:A 65-year-old man with jaundice was diagnosed preoperatively with a pancreatic acinus process with superior mesenteric vein (SMV) invasion. In order to ensure R0 resection, the patient underwent laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy combined with SMV resection and reconstruction, taking the way of the superior mesenteric artery (SMA)-first approach.

Introduction: Indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence imaging system is a now a consolidated complementary technique for several surgical fields. The development of post-transplant lymphocele following lymph spread could affect kidney function; between therapeutic options, the literature reports a 12% overall conversion rate from laparoscopic to open surgery with a major risk of damaging the urinary tract.
Objective: The goal of the present study was to demonstrate that intraoperative ICG fluorescent imaging is a safe technique that can be used in laparoscopy establishing the exact location of the lymphocele and reducing intraoperative risks.
Background: Abdominoplasty is one of the most common procedures in plastic surgery, and energy-based tissue dissection techniques have become the gold standard. Despite its frequency, abdominoplasty is still associated with high complication rates.
Objectives: The authors compared clinical and economic data of 4 methods of energy-based tissue dissection in a randomized, open-label study.

Background: Several devices are available for liver parenchyma transection (LPT). The aim of this study was to compare the Ultracision Harmonic scalpel (UHS) with the Cavitron Ultrasonic Surgical Aspirator (CUSA) among patients who underwent hemi-right hepatectomies (RH) to homogenize transection areas.
Methods: From September 2012 to June 2015, 24 patients who underwent the UHS surgery approach were matched with 24 patients who underwent the CUSA transection procedure for RH using propensity score matching.
