The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has significantly impacted maternal and perinatal healthcare worldwide, including in Indonesia. Restrictions on access to health services have forced mothers to adapt to new challenges in breastfeeding during the pandemic. The aim of this study was to evaluate mothers' breastfeeding experiences and the role of husbands in providing support during this period.

Interchangeable terminology and definitions of breastfeeding difficulties may inadvertently influence premature cessation of breastfeeding. Lactation failure is a distinct concept from breastfeeding cessation, and it is vital to differentiate between them, especially in educating health care professionals in communicating and supporting mothers perinatally. Comprehensively review varying terminology and definitions, providing a more nuanced understanding of lactation failure versus breastfeeding cessation, and highlighting physiological and social, emotional, mental, and commercial factors that influence breastfeeding outcomes.

Background: Many women of childbearing age with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) require advanced therapies. While biologics are largely low risk during pregnancy, the novel small molecules tofacitinib, filgotinib, upadacitinib and ozanimod (TFUO) have shown concerning teratogenic effects, and decreased fertility in animal studies. Therefore, their use in women of childbearing age needs careful consideration.
