Complexes [AuCl{C(NHR)(NHPy-2)}] (Py-2 ) 2-pyridyl; R ) Me, tBu, nBu, iPr, nheptyl) have been prepared in amodular way from [AuCl(CNPy-2)]. The carbene moiety has a hydrogen-bond supported heterocyclic structure similar to the nitrogen heterocyclic carbenes in the solid state, and in CH2Cl2 or acetone solution, which is open in the presence of MeOH. The compounds are good catalysts for the skeletal rearrangement of enynes, and for the methoxycyclization of enynes. In contrast, the complexes [AuCl{C(NHR)(NHPy-4)}] are scarcely active due to the blocking effect of the coordination position required for the catalysis by the nitrogen of the NHPy-4 group.

In this study, polyethylene glycol 200 (PEG200) was employed as hydrogen bond acceptor, while organic acids served as hydrogen bond donors, to formulate poly-deep eutectic solvents (PDESs), which were utilized to pretreat tea stem. Specially, combining PEG200 and oxalic acid (OA) exhibited a notably high cellulose retention (82.03 %) and most efficient hemicellulose (97.

Influence of CTAB Reverse Micellar Confinement on the Tetrahedral Structure of Liquid Water.

The effect of confinement on the tetrahedral ordering of liquid water plays a vital role in controlling their microscopic structure and dynamics as well as their spectroscopic properties. In this article, we have performed the classical molecular dynamics simulations of four different CTAB/water/chloroform reverse micelles with varied water content to study how the tetrahedral ordering of nanoscale water inside reverse micellar confinement influences the microscopic dynamics and the structural relaxation of water···water hydrogen bonds and its impact on the low-frequency intermolecular vibrational bands. We have noticed from the results obtained from simulated trajectories the lowering trends of tetrahedral ordering of water pools in reverse micellar confinements as we move from bulk to confined and strictly confined environments.

This study explores the formulation and characterization of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)-based composite hydrogels synthesized through solid-state crosslinking. Comprehensive assessments were conducted on their physicochemical properties, leachables, and immunogenicity. Swelling experiments demonstrated that the incorporation of poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) enhanced water retention, while chitosan had a minimal effect on swelling behavior.

Structural analyses of Cryptosporidium parvum epitopes reveal a novel scheme of decapeptide binding to H-2K.

State Key Laboratory of Agricultural Microbiology, College of Veterinary Medicine, Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, PR China. Electronic address:

Cryptosporidium has gained much attention as a major cause of diarrhea worldwide. Here, we present the first structure of H-2K complexed with a decapeptide from Cryptosporidium parvum Gp40/15 protein (Gp40/15-VTF10). In contrast to all published structures, the aromatic residue P3-Phe of Gp40/15-VTF10 is anchored in pocket C rather than the canonical Y/F at P5 or P6 reported for octapeptides and nonapeptides.

Visual detection of kanamycin with functionalized Au nanoparticles.

Mikrochim Acta

Institute of Chemical Engineering, Guangdong Academy of Sciences, Guangzhou, 510665, People's Republic of China.

A simple and rapid colorimetric detection strategy, based on hydrogen bond identification of 6-thioguanine (6-TG) functionalized Au nanoparticles (AuNPs), is proposed for highly selective and sensitive determination of kanamycin (KA). In this strategy, the hydrogen bond interaction between 6-TG and kanamycin induces AuNPs to agglomerate, with a consequent color change of AuNPs from wine red to purple or even blue. The kanamycin concentrations can be quantified by employing UV-vis spectrophotometer.
