Morphological, histochemical and biochemical perculiarities of liver hyperplastic nodules induced by different chemical carcinogens are regarded. The presence of basophylic atypical cells in the hyperplastic nodules, the possibility of transplantation of some nodules, the irreversibility of some morphological and biochemical lesions in these allows to designate hyperplastic nodules as a neoplasm. Enzyme and isozyme patterns in hyperplastic vesicles, the appearance of alpha-fetoprotein in these, and some other metabolic findings suggest biochemical disdifferentiation occurring in the vesicles. These findings suggest that cells of hyperplastic nodules are intermediate between normal and malignant cells in the course of neoplastic transformation.

Pediatric-type follicular lymphoma (PTFL) is an extremely rare B-cell lymphoma that primarily affects children and young adults, typically in individuals under 25 years old, with a median age of 15 years. Here, we report a rare case of PTFL in a 27-year-old adult male who presented with a slow-growing mass near his left ear. Initial CT scans of the neck revealed two oval-shaped, smooth, well-defined, homogeneously enhancing soft tissue density lesions in the superficial lobe of the left parotid gland.

A Novel Method for Hemorrhage Control During Laparoscopic Distal Pancreatectomy with Splenic Vessel Preservation: Triple Occlusion.

Ann Surg Oncol

January 2025

Division of Pancreatic Surgery, Department of General Surgery, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu, Sichuan, China.

Introduction: Laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy (LDP) has the advantages of reduced blood loss, shorter hospital stays, and a better postoperative quality of life compared with open distal pancreatectomy (ODP). Meanwhile, spleen-preserving laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy is the preferred technique for low-grade malignant and benign tumors located in pancreatic body and tail, since it preserves the immune function of the spleen. The splenic-vessel-preserving (SVP) Kimura technique and splenic vessel resection Warshaw technique are the two primary procedures.

Background: Conjunctival sporotrichosis is a rare fungal infection, typically presenting as granulomatous lesions. Its manifestations can be atypical, particularly in immunosuppressed patients. Here, we present a rare case of a Mooren's ulcer patient with bulbar conjunctival Sporotrichosis presenting as a salmon-pink tumor.

Pulmonary cavernous hemangioma: a case report.

BMC Pulm Med

January 2025

Department of Medical Imaging, Baoji Central Hospital, Baoji, China.

Background: Cavernous hemangiomas can occur in various internal organs like the liver, kidney, bladder, and skin, or even in subcutaneous tissues. However, they rarely occur in the lungs, making pulmonary cavernous hemangiomas (PCH) an uncommon finding. Herein, we report a rare case of pulmonary cavernous hemangioma that was surgically resected.
