The authors describe a technique for lumbar drain placement using CT guidance. Midline or paramidline interlaminar approaches to the thecal sac can be used. The major advantage to CT guidance is direct visualization of the needle tip in relation to the thecal sac. This technical approach is a safe and rapid alternative to fluoroscopic guidance for the placement of lumbar drains in patients in whom standard lumbar drain placement techniques have failed.

Unlabelled: Tuberculosis (TB) can affect any organ, and at times more than one organ in any sequence, in which case it is referred to as disseminated tuberculosis (DTB). We report a patient who presented primarily for psychiatric symptoms of three months' duration, which later turned out to be a case of DTB involving the central nervous system as well as the spine and lungs.
Case Presentation: An elderly lady with subacute onset and worsening behavioural changes of three months' duration was referred for exclusion of organic brain disease.

Background: An anomalous left vertebral artery (aLVA) can complicate aortic arch surgery. We examined the safety of various aLVA revascularization strategies during open total arch replacement.
Methods: We retrospectively evaluated 92 patients undergoing total arch replacement from January 2018 to May 2023 and identified 11 patients with aLVA.

Background: Skull base tumors represent a small subset of intracranial neoplasm. Due to their proximity to critical neurovascular structures, their resection often leads to morbidity. As a result, surgical interventions can exacerbate symptoms or cause new deficits, thereby impacting the patients' perceived quality of life (QoL).

A wide range of acute brain injuries, including both traumatic and non-traumatic causes, can result in elevated intracranial pressure (ICP), which in turn can cause further secondary injury to the brain, initiating a vicious cascade of propagating injury. Elevated ICP is therefore a neurological injury that requires intensive monitoring and time-sensitive interventions. Patients at high risk for developing elevated ICP undergo placement of invasive ICP monitors including external ventricular drains, intraparenchymal ICP monitors, and lumbar drains.
