Mangosteen seed fat (MSF), a novel tropical seed fat, predominantly comprises 1,3-distearoyl-2-linoleoyl-glycerol (StLSt) and 1,3-distearoyl-2-oleoyl-glycerol (StOSt). The fat was blended with cocoa butter (CB) in proportions of 5%, 25% and 60% in the present study, and the binary blends achieved acceptable miscibility. It was indicated that StLSt could be mixed well with the symmetrical monounsaturated triacylglycerols in CB, especially StOSt, 1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-3-stearoyl-glycerol (POSt) and 1,3-dipalmitoyl-2-oleoyl-glycerol (POP).

Addressing the high cost and long cycle associated with the multistep digital restoration process involving 3D printing technology, we proposed the 3D pen as an innovative strategy for rapid bone repair. Capitalizing on the low melting point characteristic of polycaprolactone (PCL), we introduced, for the first time, the novel concept of directly constructing scaffolds at bone defect sites using 3D pens. In this in vitro study, we meticulously evaluated both the mechanical and biological properties of 3D pen-printed PCL scaffolds with six distinct textures: unidirectional (UNI) (0°, 45°, 90°), bidirectional (BID) (-45°/45°, 0°/90°), and concentric (CON).

In modern science, the exchange of scientific material between different institutions and collaborating working groups constitutes an indispensable endeavor. For this purpose, bacterial strains are frequently shipped to collaborators to advance joint research projects. Bacterial strains are usually safely shipped as cultures on solid medium, whereas the shipment of liquid cultures requires specific safety measures due to the risk of leakage.

A novel temperature-responsive supramolecular solvent was prepared with cetyltributylphosphonium tetrafluoroborate and sodium citrate. It served as the extraction solvent of dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction for the extraction and enrichment of pyrethroids in tobacco samples. In this study, the preparation of the temperature-responsive supramolecular solvent and the extraction of the target analytes were integrated into one step, which simplified the experimental process.

Boron Trioxide-Assisted Post-Annealing Enables Vertical Oriented Recrystallization of SbSe Thin Film for High-Efficiency Solar Cells.

Crystallization process is critical for enhancing the crystallinity, regulating the crystal orientation of polycrystalline thin films, as well as repairing defects within the films. For quasi-1D SbSe photovoltaic materials, the preparation of SbSe thin films still faces great challenges in adjusting orientation and defect properties, which limits the device performance. In this study, a novel post-treatment strategy is developed that uses a low melting point BO coating layer as a flux to drive the recrystallization of SbSe, thereby regulating the micro-orientation of thermal evaporation-derived SbSe films and optimizing their electrical properties.
