The global increase in the incidence of wounds is concerning and fuels the search for new treatment options. The use of traditional medicinal plants in wound healing represents an appreciated available therapeutic possibility. This work introduces the VOLKSMED database, which contains plants and other materials used in Austrian folk medicine, either as monographs or mixtures.

Aim: The aims of this study were to identify the pathogen causing blackcurrant leaf spot, assess the pathogenicity of different isolates, the host range, and the sensitivity to common fungicides, and test the effectiveness of field control for controlling A. alternata in blackcurrants in China, and potentially elsewhere.
Methods And Results: In 2020 and 2021, an uncommon leaf spot on blackcurrants was observed in Harbin (125°42'-130°10'E, 44°04'-46°40'N), Heilongjiang Province, China.

Selective abortion, also called selective maturation, is a phenomenon wherein maternal plants selectively mature ovules that have the potential to grow into higher-quality fruits, such as those that contain more seeds. We hypothesized that the effects of selective maturation on fruit traits could be influenced by the dispersal mechanism. However, to date, limited studies have been conducted on selective maturation in bird-dispersed fruits.

Our study demonstrated that the species respond non-linearly to increases in CO concentration when exposed to decadal changes in CO, representing the year 1987, 2025, 2051, and 2070, respectively. There are several lines of evidence suggesting that the vast majority of C3 plants respond to elevated atmospheric CO by decreasing their stomatal conductance (g). However, in the majority of CO enrichment studies, the response to elevated CO are tested between plants grown under ambient (380-420 ppm) and high (538-680 ppm) CO concentrations and measured usually at single time points in a diurnal cycle.
