Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) poses a significant threat to life. Antiretroviral therapy is employed to diminish the replication of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), extending life expectancy and improving the quality of patients' lives. These HIV-1 integrase inhibitors form robust covalent interactions with Mg ions, contributing to their tight binding, thereby inhibiting the integration of viral DNA into the CD4 cell DNA.

The present study aims to explore the potential biomarker application of salivary heat shock 70 kDa protein in detecting thermal stress in dairy animals noninvasively. The study spans for 45 days during the mid-summer season (April-May), involving twelve multiparous non-pregnant adult Jersey crossbred cows by randomly allocating them into groups (six animals in each group). The control animals were maintained in the shed, whereas the thermal stress group animals were exposed to environment heat between 10:00 h to 16.

Cisplatin is a common platinum-based chemotherapeutic that induces acute kidney injury (AKI) in about 30% of patients. Pharmacokinetic/toxicodynamic (PKTD) models of cisplatin-induced AKI have been used to understand risk factors and evaluate potential mitigation strategies. While both traditional clinical biomarkers of kidney function [e.

Introduction: Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI) is caused by multiple clinical conditions such as cystic fibrosis and chronic pancreatitis (CP). Standard management of EPI includes pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy (PERT) along with consultation with a dietitian. While PERTs have been on the market for several decades, newer publications on their clinical efficacy and safety raised the need for a comprehensive review of the literature.

The modified Escherichia coli biotin ligase BirA* was the first developed for proximity labeling of proteins (BioID). However, it has low activity at temperatures below 37°C, which reduces its effectiveness in organisms growing at lower temperatures, such as budding yeast. Multiple derivatives of the enzymes have been engineered, but a thorough comparison of these variations of biotin ligases and the development of versatile tools for conducting these experiments in Saccharomyces cerevisiae would benefit the community.
