Published: November 2008

The first d (6) rhodium imido complex, [{(C 5Me 5)Rh(mu-NSO 2C 6H 4Me- p)} 2] ( 2), has been obtained from the reaction of [(C 5Me 5)Rh(C 2H 4) 2] with chloramine-T. Carbon monoxide inserts into the N-Rh bonds in 2 to give the dinuclear ureylene complex [(C 5Me 5)Rh(mu-{(Ts) N-CO-N(Ts)}Rh(CO)(C 5Me 5)], while the azide C 6F 5N 3 adds to 2 to give the mononuclear tetrazene complex [(C 5Me 5)Rh{( p-MeC 6H 4SO 2)N 4(C 6F 5)}].

Modular Synthesis of Monoanionic PN Ligands Leads to Unexpected Structural Diversity in Lanthanum Chemistry.

Inorg Chem

October 2024

Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, Institute of General, Inorganic and Theoretical Chemistry, Leopold-Franzens-University Innsbruck, Innrain 80-82, 6020 Innsbruck, Austria.

We report a new synthetic entry to a series of -substituted anilidophosphine ligands (short HPN, R = pTol (), 3,5-dimethylphenyl (), 3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl (), 2-methoxyphenyl (), diisopropylphenyl (), and adamantyl ()), allowing a detailed tuning of their steric (and electronic) properties. could be converted into their lithium salts , which are effective precursors for salt metathesis reactions. The new ligands are used for the synthesis of an array of lanthanide complexes using LaCl(THF) as a precursor.

Department of Chemical, Biological, Pharmaceutical and Environmental Sciences, University of Messina, Viale Ferdinando Stagno D'Alcontres 31, I-98166 Messina, Italy.

A novel class of Ru(II)-based polypyridyl complexes with an auxiliary salicylaldehyde ligand [Ru(phen)(X-Sal)]BF {X: H (), 5-Cl (), 5-Br (), 3,5-Cl (), 3,5-Br (), 3-Br,5-Cl (), 3,5-I (), 5-NO (), 5-Me (), 4-Me (), 4-OMe (), and 4-DEA (), has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, and H/C NMR spectroscopy. The molecular structure of , , , , and was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis which revealed structural similarities. DFT and TD-DFT calculations showed that they also possess similar electronic structures.

Instituto de Ciencia Molecular (ICMol), Universidad de Valencia, Catedrático José Beltrán 2, 46980 Paterna, Spain.

Three solvatomorphs of the iron(II) complex of 2,6-di[4-(ethylcarboxy)pyrazol-1-yl]pyridine (bpCOOEtp) of formulas [Fe(bpCOOEtp)](ClO)·1.5MeNO (), [Fe(bpCOOEtp)](ClO)·MeNO (), and [Fe(bpCOOEtp)](ClO)·2MeNO () have been prepared and characterized. They show interesting spin-crossover (SCO) properties ranging from partial to complete thermal spin transitions and a light-induced excited spin-state trapping (LIESST) effect.

A series of bioinspired polar atrane Cu-Al complexes were studied with a combined experimental and computational approach to assess the range and nature of Cu-Al interactions in these novel species. The aluminum metalloligand [Na{MeAl(OPy-6-Me)}] () was furnished in excellent yield (92%) from the nucleophilic attack of Na(OPy-6-Me) to AlMe and the subsequent alkane elimination reaction with 6-methyl-2-hydroxypyridine. At the same time, the metalloligand [Al(OPy-6-Me)] () was isolated in an also excellent yield (95%) via alkane elimination of AlMe with 6-methyl-2-hydroxypyridine.

The introduction of phosphorothioate (PS) linkages to the backbone of therapeutic nucleic acids substantially increases their stability and potency. It also affects their interactions with cellular proteins, but the molecular mechanisms that underlie this effect are poorly understood. Here, we report structural and biochemical studies of interactions between annexin A2, a protein that does not possess any known canonical DNA binding domains, and phosphorothioate-modified antisense oligonucleotides.
