In an attempt to examine and compare the effect of the two commercially available recombinant FSH on ovarian stimulation characteristics and IVF cycle outcome, we studied 264 IVF cycles in patients with a favorable prognosis a priori, 198 in patients using follitropin-alpha, and 68 in patients using follitropin-beta. Although both groups achieved a comparable number of retrieved oocytes, the use of follitropin-beta was associated with a tendency toward a lower clinical pregnancy rate (PR), and with significantly higher E(2) levels despite the use of significantly lower total gonadotropin dose.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy of Follitropin alpha (Gonal-F) and Follitropin beta (Puregon) on cumulative live birth rate (CLBR), defined as the percentage of the number of patients who delivered for the first time in a single ovarian stimulation cycle and the number of patients in all oocyte retrieval cycles.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study including 2864 infertile patients who underwent ovarian stimulation with Puregon (group A, n=1313) and Gonal-F (group B, n=1551) was conducted between July 2015 and June 2021 at a university-affiliated reproductive medicine center. Reduce potential confounding factors between groups, propensity scores and multivariable logistic regression analyses were estimated to obtain unbiased estimates of outcomes.

Objective: To conduct an economic evaluation estimating the cost per live birth after controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) using Follitropin Alpha (Gonal-F), in the Greek National Health System setting. A secondary objective was to predict the live birth rateof the Fertilization (IVF) procedure.
Methods: A single arm, multi-center, prospective, non-interventional study was conducted on which economic, efficacy and safety data were collected by six of the largest IVF centers.

Research Question: Are cumulative live birth rates (CLBR) after follitropin alpha (Ovaleap®) and follitropin beta (Puregon®) similar when used for ovarian stimulation with ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) in a first-rank gonadotrophin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist protocol?
Design: Retrospective single-centre cohort study including 832 infertile patients undergoing ovarian stimulation with a daily dose of 150-225 IU FSH in their first ICSI cycle at a tertiary referral centre between July 2016 and July 2019. Of those, 349 patients used Ovaleap and 483 patients received Puregon.
Results: Baseline characteristics were not statistically different between the groups.

: To study the impact of biosimilars in assisted reproductive treatments, we performed a review of the literature. Biosimilars are a bioequivalent chemical drug referred to the original. Their production is strongly requested in order to reduce drug cost and reduce health economic impact on national health system.
