We construct a large class of non-Markovian master equations that describe the dynamics of open quantum systems featuring strong memory effects, which relies on a quantum generalization of the concept of classical semi-Markov processes. General conditions for the complete positivity of the corresponding quantum dynamical maps are formulated. The resulting non-Markovian quantum processes allow the treatment of a variety of physical systems, as is illustrated by means of various examples and applications, including quantum optical systems and models of quantum transport.

This paper investigates the probabilistic-sampling-based asynchronous control problem for semi-Markov reaction-diffusion neural networks (SMRDNNs). Aiming at mitigating the drawback of the well-known fixed-sampling control law, a more general probabilistic-sampling-based control strategy is developed to characterize the randomly sampling period. The system mode is considered to be related to the sojourn-time and undetectable.

This paper studies the asynchronous output feedback control and H synchronization problems for a class of continuous-time stochastic hidden semi-Markov jump neural networks (SMJNNs) affected by actuator saturation. Initially, a novel neural networks (NNs) model is constructed, incorporating semi-Markov process (SMP), hidden information, and Brownian motion to accurately simulate the complexity and uncertainty of real-world environments. Secondly, acknowledging system mode mismatches and the need for robust anti-interference capabilities, a non-fragile controller based on hidden information is proposed.

Objective: Phonocardiography has recently gained popularity in low-cost and remote monitoring, including passive fetal heart monitoring. The development of methods which analyse phonocardiographic data tries to capitalize on this opportunity, and in recent years a multitude of such algorithms and models have been published. In these approaches there is little to no standardization and multiple parts of these models have to be reimplemented on a case-by-case basis.

CoSD: Balancing behavioral consistency and diversity in unsupervised skill discovery.

In hierarchical reinforcement learning, unsupervised skill discovery holds promise for overcoming the challenge of sparse rewards commonly encountered in traditional reinforcement learning. Although previous unsupervised skill discovery methods excelled at maximizing intrinsic rewards, they often overly prioritized skill diversity. Unrestrained pursuit of diversity leads skills to concentrate attention on unexplored domains, overlooking the internal consistency of skills themselves, resulting in the state visit distribution of individual skills lacking concentration.

The primary focus of this article centers around the application of sliding mode control (SMC) to semi-Markov jumping systems, incorporating a dynamic event-triggered protocol (ETP) and singular perturbation. The underlying semi-Markov singularly perturbed systems (SMSPSs) exhibit mode switching behavior governed by a semi-Markov process, wherein the variation of this process is regulated by a deterministic switching signal. To simultaneously reduce the triggering rate and uphold the system performance, a novel parameter-based dynamic ETP is established.
