Objective: To study the effect of Supplemented Taoren Chengqi decoction (STCD) on the secretion of insulin and proliferation of NIT-1.
Method: The effect of STCD and the serum of rat after orally administrating of STCD on the secretion of insulin and proliferation of NIT-1 were studied. The proliferation of NIT-1 was measured by 3H-TdR incorporation and cell counting methods, while the secretion of insulin was measured from the cultured medium by the ultra sensitive rat insulin ELISIA kit.
Result: Both the STCD and the serum of rat after orally administrating of STCD significantly could increased the secretion of insulin and proliferation of NIT-1.
Conclusion: The treatment of the diabetic patients by STCD might be through with its improvement of secretion of insulin and proliferation on pancreatic beta-cell.

Metabolic syndrome during menopause can lead to diabetes, cardiovascular problems, and increased mortality rates. Hormone replacement therapy is recommended to manage climacteric complications, but it has serious adverse effects. This study, therefore, investigated the potential of supplementing some minerals, vitamins, and natural products like boric acid, magnesium, vitamin D3, and extra virgin olive oil on metabolic status of menopausal ovariectomized rats.

Regulating insulin production by pancreatic beta cells is crucial for maintaining metabolic balance. Previous studies observed elevated neurotransmitter levels, like norepinephrine (NE), in metabolic syndrome mice with impaired insulin secretion. Given the therapeutic potential of β-adrenergic receptors (β-ARs) for diabetes and obesity, and the lack of structural data on murine β-ARs, we aimed to construct and validate 3D models to investigate their roles in insulin secretion regulation.

Background: Cisplatin (DDP) resistance has long posed a challenge in the clinical treatment of lung cancer (LC). Insulin-like growth factor 2 binding protein 2 (IGF2BP2) has been identified as an oncogenic factor in LC, whereas its specific role in DDP resistance in LC remains unclear.
Results: In this study, we investigated the role of IGF2BP2 on DDP resistance in DDP-resistant A549 cells (A549/DDP) in vitro and in a DDP-resistant lung tumor-bearing mouse model in vivo.

Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is an indicator and diverse endocrine syndrome that combines different metabolic defects with clinical, physiological, biochemical, and metabolic factors. Obesity, visceral adiposity and abdominal obesity, dyslipidemia, insulin resistance (IR), elevated blood pressure, endothelial dysfunction, and acute or chronic inflammation are the risk factors associated with MetS. Abdominal obesity, a hallmark of MetS, highlights dysfunctional fat tissue and increased risk for cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index and the Atherogenic Index of Plasma (AIP) are both predictors of cardiovascular diseases (CVD). However, their combined and individual contributions to CVD risk are not well understood. This study evaluate the joint and individual associations of the TyG index and AIP with CVD events in middle-aged and older Chinese adults.
