Skeletal muscle metastases following cancer surgery are rare. Few cases of abdominal wall metastasis have been reported in the literature and attributed to tumor seeding after laparoscopic surgery or percutaneous nephrostomy. We report a case of abdominal tumor seeding after open nephroureterectomy managed by means of a surgical and medical approach.

Despite the development of many effective immunoadjuvants (IAs), the therapeutic efficacy of in situ vaccines for anti-tumor applications remains limited. Inspired by the morphological changes occurring during apoptosis, this study aims to leverage the release process of autologous tumor antigens (ATAs) to enhance the anti-tumor activity of in situ vaccines. We developed five distinct liposomes, each with unique characteristics and functions, incorporating FDA-approved monophosphoryl lipid A (MPLA) adjuvants into their lipid bilayers.

Background: Triglyceride glucose (TyG) index has been proposed as a credible and simple surrogate indicator for insulin resistance. The primary aim of this study was to novelly examine the associations between dietary patterns reflecting variations in circulating TyG index and the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
Methods: This study included 120,988 participants from the UK Biobank, all of whom completed multiple 24-h dietary assessments.

Background: Uveal melanoma (UM) is the most common intraocular tumor in adults, arises either de novo from normal choroidal melanocytes (NCMs) or from pre-existing nevi that stem from NCMs and are thought to harbor UM-initiating mutations, most commonly in GNAQ or GNA11. However, there are no commercially available NCM cell lines, nor is there a detailed protocol for developing an oncogene-mutated CM line (MutCM) to study UM development. This study aimed to establish and characterize premalignant CM models from human donor eyes to recapitulate the cell populations at the origin of UM.

Rationale: We report here a case of using iodine-125 (125I) seed implantation via endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) in the treatment of malignant central airway obstruction (MCAO) in a patient with lung adenocarcinoma.
Patient Concerns: The patient still experienced MCAO after conventional bronchoscopic interventional therapy.
Diagnoses: The patient was diagnosed as lung adenocarcinoma stage IV (T4N2M1a).
Metastasis causes most cancer deaths and reflects transitions from primary tumor escape to seeding and growth at metastatic sites. Epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is important early in metastasis to enable cancer cells to detach from neighboring cells, become migratory, and escape the primary tumor. While different phases of metastasis expose cells to variable nutrient environments and demands, the metabolic requirements and plasticity of each step are uncertain.
