In this study, in vitro organogenesis of Gladiolus grandiflorus cultivar pink corm segments were evaluated by culturing corm calli in modified MS medium supplemented with 3% sucrose and 0.7% agar with different concentration of BAP (0, 1, 2 and 4 mg L(-1) medium) and NAA (0, 0.5, 1 and 2 mg L(-1) medium) in factorial experiment of Completely Randomized Design (CRD). In order to obtain Gladiolus calli, corm segments (Aprox. 5 x 5 x 1 mm in size) were kept in modified MS medium (Murashige and Skoog, 1962) that was supplemented with 1 mg L(-1) 2, 4-D, 3% sucrose and 0.7% agar. The results showed that increasing the concentration of BAP from 0 to 2 mg L(-1) medium simulated plantlet regeneration but no significantly effect was obtained on shoot and cormel organogenesis between 2 and 4 mg L(-1) BAP concentration in medium. Increasing of NAA content in media without BAP developed rootlet significantly. Interaction results showed that increasing BAP content against decreasing of NAA concentration stimulates the shoot and cormel proliferation.

Compared to the laboratory preparation of biochar, there is less research on the adsorption of antibiotics by industrial production of biochar in water. In this study, three types of industrial production biochar (peanut shell biochar, sludge biochar, and perishable waste biochar) were selected, and their adsorption performance for tetracycline in composite-polluted water was systematically studied. The results indicated that the Freundlich equation could well fit the adsorption isotherms of the three types of biochar for tetracycline.

The chemical constituents of Dracocephalum tanguticum were investigated using normal-and reverse-phase silica gel column chromatography, RP-HPLC, and other separation techniques, combined with experimental methods such as NMR, UV, IR, MS, and ORD, as well as comparison with reported literature data. From the ethanol extract of D. tanguticum, 10 compounds were isolated and identified: dracotangusion C(1),(1R,4S,5S,10R)-(+)-germacrone-1(10)-4-diepoxide(2), 1β,4β,5β-trihydroxy-7(11),9-germacradien-8-one(3), curcumadione(4), β-sitosterol(5), lilacoside(6), diosmetin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(7), diosmin(8), luteolin-7-O-glucoside(9), and luteolin(10).

The high overpotential of the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and the strong corrosion of the anode are the main problems currently faced by the zinc hydrometallurgical process. This study achieved the successful synthesis of titanium dioxide nanotubes doped by Al and V on a TC4 alloy. Subsequently, a composite electrode, TC4/AVTN-7/PbO-ZrO-CoO, was prepared utilizing composite electrodeposition.

Functional Plant Cultivation and Application Teams, Institute of Urban Agriculture, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Chengdu 610000, China.

High Zn concentrations in microalgal cells that produce astaxanthin as a feed additive can reduce the symptoms of malnutrition in aquatic animals. Therefore, in this study, we analysed the effect of Zn in the culture medium on the growth of a newly isolated microalgal strain ZY24. Zn and white light stress altered the pigment content in microalgal cells.
