The cerebellum has been involved in social abilities and autism. Given that the cerebellum is connected to the cortex via the cerebello-thalamo-cortical loop, the connectivity between the cerebellum and cortical regions involved in social interactions, that is, the right temporo-parietal junction (rTPJ) has been studied in individuals with autism, who suffer from prototypical deficits in social abilities. However, existing studies with small samples of categorical, case-control comparisons have yielded inconsistent results due to the inherent heterogeneity of autism, suggesting that investigating how clinical dimensions are related to cerebellar-rTPJ functional connectivity might be more relevant.

Introduction: Magnetic resonance guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) thalamotomy is an effective treatment for drug-resistant tremor. The most frequent side effects are ataxia, gait disturbance, paresthesias, dysgeusia, and hemiparesis. Here, we report the first case of thalamic hand dystonia rapidly occurring after MRgFUS thalamotomy of the ventral intermediate nucleus (V.

This review delves into the historical evolution and ongoing controversy surrounding the relationship between tremor and dystonia. The Dystonia Consensus Panel and the International Parkinson's and Movement Disorders Society's Tremor Taskforce have attempted to define these entities, but the complexity arises when patients have a combination of both dystonia and tremor. The term "dystonic tremor" has sparked diverse interpretations, with debates over its clinical features and the need for more objectively defined characteristics.

Background: The thalamic ventral intermediate nucleus (Vim) and globus pallidus internus are far apart and cannot be captured using a single electrode.

Case Description: We describe our experience with a patient with dystonic tremors of the head and upper and lower extremities who showed symptomatic improvement after radiofrequency (RF) ablation using a parietal lobe approach with a single trajectory to capture the pallidothalamic tract and Vim. A 46-year-old man developed head tremors at 41 and a right-sided neck tilt three years later.

Introduction: Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is an established and effective therapy for movement disorders. Here, we present a case of secondary myoclonus-dystonia syndrome following acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM) in childhood, which was alleviated by DBS. Using a patient-specific connectome analysis, we sought to characterise the fibres and circuits affected by stimulation.
