Scientists wishing to utilize genomic data have quickly come to realize the benefit of standardizing descriptions of experimental procedures and results for computer-driven information retrieval systems. The focus of the Gene Ontology project is three-fold. First, the project goal is to compile the Gene Ontologies; structured vocabularies describing domains of molecular biology. Second, the project supports the use of these structured vocabularies in the annotation of gene products. Third, the gene product-to-GO annotation sets are provided by participating groups to the public through open access to the GO database and Web resource. This unit describes the current ontologies and what is beyond the scope of the Gene Ontology project. It addresses the issue of how GO vocabularies are constructed and related to genes and gene products. It concludes with a discussion of how researchers can access, browse, and utilize the GO project in the course of their own research.

Based on network pharmacology and molecular docking methods, this study explored its active compounds and confirmed its potential mechanism of action against Hand-foot skin reaction induced by tumor-targeted drugs. Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform and UniProt Database were used to obtain the active ingredients and target proteins of Spatholobi Caulis. All hand-foot skin reaction (HFSR)-related targets were obtained with the help of the Human Gene Database, Online Mendelian Inheritance in Humans (OMIM), DisGeNET and DrugBank databases.

Purpose: Fuchs endothelial corneal dystrophy (FECD) displays a higher incidence in females than in males, yet the underlying mechanism remains unclear. This study aimed to elucidate sex-dependent differential gene expressions in corneal endothelial cells (CECs) from healthy non-FECD individuals and from patients with FECD.
Methods: RNA-Seq data from CECs of non-FECD subjects (3 males, 4 females) and FECD subjects (5 males, 5 females) were analyzed to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between the sexes.

Purpose: To detect the prognostic importance of liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) in lung adenocarcinoma.
Methods: The gene expression files, copy number variation data, and clinical data were downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas cohort. LLPS-related genes were acquired from the DrLLPS website.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common cause of cancer‑related mortality and morbidity worldwide. While iodine‑125 (I) particle brachytherapy has been extensively used in the clinical treatment of various types of cancer, the precise mechanism underlying its effectiveness in treating HCC remains unclear. In the present study, MHCC‑97H cells were treated with I, after which, cell viability and proliferation were assessed using Cell Counting Kit‑8, 5‑ethynyl‑2'‑deoxyuridine and colony formation assays, cell invasion and migration were evaluated using wound healing and Transwell assays, and cell apoptosis was determined using flow cytometry.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the fifth leading cause of cancer related deaths globally. Despite advancements in treatment, drug resistance and adverse side effects have spurred the search for novel therapeutic strategies. This study aimed to investigate how the can inhibit key targets involved in HCC progression.
