In an attempt to evaluate the influence of the GnRH analogue used during controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) on the outcome of IVF cycles of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) patients, we studied 152 IVF cycles. The PCOS patients undergoing COH using the GnRH agonist protocol (n = 50) showed a significantly higher pregnancy rate (36% vs. 19.6%, respectively), compared with the GnRH antagonist protocol (n = 102).

A case of large uterine cystic adenomyosis outside the uterus after laparoscopic myomectomy: a case report and literature review.

BMC Womens Health

January 2025

Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University, No.36 Sanhao Street, Heping District, Shenyang, Liaoning Province, 110004, China.

Background: Uterine cystic adenomyosis is a rare form of focal adenomyosis that is primarily located within the myometrium. In this case report, we present a unique case of adult uterine cystic adenomyosis found outside the uterus following laparoscopic myomectomy.

Case Presentation: The patient was a 36-year-old Chinese woman who had previously undergone laparoscopic surgery at our hospital to remove a 4 cm diameter diameter uterine fibroid six years prior.

Triptorelin, a synthetic gonadotrophin-releasing hormone (GnRH), is mainly used in the clinical treatment of prostate cancer. The mechanism initially stimulates luteinizing hormone (LH) and testosterone secretion followed by suppression, resulting in a reduction in cancer progression. However, GnRHs are prohibited in doping control because of the indirect surge of LH and testosterone.

PSMA-PET/CT Findings in Patients With High-Risk Biochemically Recurrent Prostate Cancer With No Metastatic Disease by Conventional Imaging.

JAMA Netw Open

January 2025

Ahmanson Translational Theranostics Division, Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology, David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California, Los Angeles.

Importance: The phase 3 randomized EMBARK trial evaluated enzalutamide with or without leuprolide in high-risk nonmetastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer. Eligibility relied on conventional imaging, which underdetects metastatic disease compared with prostate-specific membrane antigen-positron emission tomography (PSMA-PET).

Objective: To describe the staging information obtained by PSMA-PET/computed tomography (PSMA-PET/CT) in a patient cohort eligible for the EMBARK trial.

While hypothalamic kisspeptin (KP) neurons play well-established roles in the estrogen-dependent regulation of reproduction, little is known about extrahypothalamic KP-producing (KP) neurons of the lateral septum. As established previously, expression in this region is low and regulated by estrogen receptor- and GABA receptor-dependent mechanisms. Our present experiments on knock-in mice revealed that transgene expression in the LS begins at P33-36 in females and P40-45 in males and is stimulated by estrogen receptor signaling.

Objectives: Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a distinct subtype of breast cancer that has a poor prognosis due to the lack of effective therapeutic agents. Since a significant proportion of human surgical samples of TNBC expressed mRNA for the growth hormone (GH), growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), and gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) receptors, and the mitogenic proliferative activity of GH, GHRH, and GnRH, have been identified as effective therapeutic targets for somatostatin and its analogs and GnRH analogs, Di Bella Method (DBM), a combination of hormonal analogs and vitamins, was introduced to target and inhibit solid tumors. The present study aimed to improve the prognosis of TNBC using DBM in women with TNBC.
