The calibration of a complete Stokes birefringent prismatic imaging polarimeter (BPIP) in the MWIR is demonstrated. The BPIP technique, originally developed by K. Oka, is implemented with a set of four Yttrium Vanadate (YVO(4)) crystal prisms. A mathematical model for the polarimeter is presented in which diattenuation due to Fresnel effects and dichroism in the crystal are included. An improved polarimetric calibration technique is introduced to remove the diattenuation effects, along with the relative radiometric calibration required for the BPIP operating with a thermal background and large detector offsets. Data demonstrating emission polarization are presented from various blackbodies, which are compared to data from our Fourier transform infrared spectropolarimeter.

Background: Peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS) has emerged as a minimally invasive percutaneous procedure addressing neuropathic pain. However, the percutaneous cylindrical lead ultrasound-guided implantation procedure requires expertise that limits widespread PNS utilization. To overcome these challenges, a microinvasive endoscopy device has very recently been developed, enhancing the precision of PNS implantation by providing accurate visualization of the targeted nerve.

Case Report: A rare case of Klippel-Feil syndrome associated with anterior cervical meningomyelocele is reported, treated successfully using partial cervical corpectomy, spinal cord microsurgical reinsertion into the spinal canal, and vertebral reconstruction. A 71-year-old patient presented with upper limb paraesthesia, chronic neck pain, and progressive motor distal impairment. Cervical spine imaging revealed an anterior cervical meningomyelocele digging into C7 vertebra and underlying adjacent congenital fusion blocks.

Monitoring water uptake in cementitious systems is crucial to assess their durability against corrosion, salt attack, and freeze-thaw damage. However, gauging absorption currently relies on labor-intensive and infrequent weight measurements, as outlined in ASTM C1585. To address this issue, we introduce a custom computer vision model trained on 6234 images, consisting of 4000 real and 2234 synthetic, that automatically detects the water level in prismatic samples absorbing water.
