Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine whether the presence of retinal angiomatous proliferation (RAP) is a prognostic factor in subretinal surgery with transplantation of a suspension of autologous retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cells.

Methods: Eyes that had been followed for at least 12 months after subretinal surgery were reviewed retrospectively and assigned to group 1 (presence of RAP) or group 2 (lesions without RAP). Main outcome measures were logMAR distance acuity and lesion size at 12 months.

Results: A total of 68 eyes of 68 patients were included; 28 were assigned to group 1 and 40 to group 2. A total of 43% of patients were male and 57% were female. Their mean age was 77.8 years. Mean distance acuity was 1.02 logMAR at baseline and 1.06 logMAR at month 12. Mean lesion size was 27.9 mm(2) at baseline and 29.9 mm2 at month 12. The differences between the groups were not significant.

Conclusions: The presence of RAP did not significantly influence the outcome after subretinal surgery with transplantation of autologous RPE cells. Other than age, preoperative lesion size and distance acuity were the only predictive factors for postoperative results.

Aim: To evaluate the impact of fluid volume fluctuations quantified with artificial intelligence in optical coherence tomography scans during the maintenance phase and visual outcomes at 12 and 24 months in a real-world, multicentre, national cohort of treatment-naïve neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) eyes.

Methods: Demographics, visual acuity (VA) and number of injections were collected using the Fight Retinal Blindness tool. Intraretinal fluid (IRF), subretinal fluid (SRF), pigment epithelial detachment (PED), total fluid (TF) and central subfield thickness (CST) were quantified using the RetinAI Discovery tool.

Background: Choroidal neovascular membranes (CNVM) associated with optic nerve head drusen (ONHD) are rare but vision threatening. A variety of treatments, including laser photocoagulation, subretinal surgery, and anti-VEGF injections, are effective but pose risks, particularly in pediatric patients, underscoring the need for a comprehensive review.

Methods: A systematic review was conducted using PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science.

Purpose: To provide insights into the transscleral removal technique for subretinal proliferative tissues (SRP).

Study Design: Retrospective, single-center case series.

Methods: Patients who underwent transscleral removal of SRP during vitrectomy for rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) were included.

This report describes the longest case of a retained metallic intraorbital foreign body with no complications and development of delayed sensory exotropia following traumatic sclopetaria in childhood. A 9-year-old girl suffered a BB gun injury to the left eye, leading to chorioretinitis sclopetaria and loss of vision. The visual acuity was 20/800 with a relative afferent pupillary defect and choroidal rupture with subretinal hemorrhage that evolved to sclopetaria over time.

A 73-year-old male with a history of incidentally diagnosed Paget disease of bone affecting the skull and left orbit 2 years prior presented with 3 months of vision loss, proptosis, and periorbital swelling of the OS. Examination showed best-corrected Snellen visual acuity of 20/150 in the affected eye, intact motility, 7 mm of relative proptosis, significant dilated and tortuous "corkscrew" conjunctival vessels, serous choroidal and retinal detachments, optic nerve hyperemia, and venous tortuosity and dilation. Although the bony lesions in the left orbit were stable from 1 year prior on imaging, the diagnostic angiogram demonstrated osseous blush and hypervascularity of the lesion.
